  • Intel CEO hopes to win back Apple with a 'better chip'

    Intel:

We want to win their business back.

    Also Intel:

    Anti-Apple Campaign

At this point, I think that it would take a literal miracle for Intel to win back Apple's business. Especially since they started an Anti-Apple campaign. Apple execs tend to have long memories abut these kinds of things. Also, what ecosystem is Intel talking about? Windows??  That's not exclusive to Intel.

  • WebKit code leaks Apple's next OS names as macOS 12, iOS 15

    Different version numbers?

This is not what Steve would have wanted.

Time to fire everyone at Apple.

  • Epic Games' CEO responds to Apple's countersuit in Twitter thread

What "founding principals" of the tech industry?

Does this man live in some sort of delusional world where tech was founded on anything besides generating a profit margin from a product that people want to buy?

The tech industry was founded on the principal of selling products to consumers, not some pie in the sky ideal of "freedom".

  • Peloton latest to blame Apple for financial woes

Perhaps Peloton should acknowledge that their bike is really overpriced for what it is: a normal exercise bike with a tablet attached that cost $2400 (before they dropped the price to $1800). If you look at the total cost of ownership, buying a Peloton seems like a bad idea. I looked at one, but the total cost of ownership caused me to nope out really fast. (Bike Cost of $2400 plus monthly subscription cost at $40 means that the cost of owning one for the first year comes out to $2880 for the first year and $480 per year after that) I don't know if the bike works without the subscription, but their ads seem to imply that you must have the subscription in order to use the bike to its full potential. They saturated the market and sold the bike to everyone who wanted one and could afford it (people north of upper middle class). The rest of us just buy something much less expensive or just buying a gym membership.

Complaining because they cannot target people to buy it seems like a lot of hand waving to excuse the fact that they saturated the market and are running out of customers. What Peloton should do is make bikes that integrate with things like Apple Watch while dropping the cost down to $800 and removing the tablet / subscription stuff. Even at that cost, it's still cheaper to buy a gym membership.

  • Facebook urged to abandon pre-teen Instagram plan by 44 states

Sensible People: Pedophiles exist. We should make it difficult for them to find and target kids.

Facebook: Let's make it easy for pedophiles to find the kids!

  • Man pleads guilty to stealing naked photos from iCloud accounts

"I'm remorseful for what I did, but I have a family"

Gee. What a Karen. Steals peoples intimate photos, but he's the victim.

I totally read this in R Slash's Karen Voice.

  • AirTag clone developed by researchers works around Apple's anti-stalking measures

I remember a few years ago when some researcher "proved" that someone could "hack" Touch ID by cutting off someone's finger and using that to unlock a phone. Then, people were panicking about someone stealing a phone and cutting off your finger while at it.

Unsurprisingly, the rash of phone and finger thefts never happened.  Yes, having a device that can track people is worrisome, but then again if someone really wanted to stalk you, all they'd have to do is to buy a cheap and untraceable GPS tracker from Amazon. The fact that Apple will hand over the name of an AirTag owner with a lawful request should put a stop to people eventually.
