Qualcomm points to innovation costs as shield to FTC's antitrust claims
"Former Qualcomm licensing president Marvin Blecker had been confronted, in a videotaped deposition, with an internal email in which a colleague confirmed to him that Qualcomm's chip division had actually held product shipments to a customer who had not yet accepted Qualcomm's license terms. It had been Qualcomm's mantra all the time that they had never actually carried out the "No License-No Chips" threat against existing customers." This is why the FTC will win the case. This appeared in a Foss patents article. -

Samsung confirms terrible earnings for the holiday quarter, and it will only get worse
aaploutsider said:brucemc said:Strange, but I did not see this information sprayed across the Internet, repeating on every news channel, along with commentary on the supposed DOOM of Samsung. Samsung Electronics is a bigger company (revenue and product line wise) than Apple, and their drop in earnings is going to be more, so how is this not front page news?

Apple again loses $2 trillion market valuation
jeffythequick said:cgWerks said:So... anyone have a rational reason why Apple is worth over a 1/4 $trillion less today than it was a week ago?
Ahh... you gotta love the Wall Street Casino!Unsure of why it was at $2.25T. As a shareholder, I get worried when P/E > 24. When it is at 36, it's in edgy territory.I know with this "rule", I've lost out on a lot (AMZN at 126, TSLA at 1080) of investments, but it's out of my risk territory.I think that there is room for AAPL to grow into the P/E closer to 16-24, especially with the 5G cycle.
PE is irrelevant look at Netflix, Amazon, Chipotle and Tesla just to name a few. Apple at 30 to 40 PE is a bargain.
