  • Apple saw twice as many mobile device activations this holiday as Samsung, data shows

This seems to indicate that Apple is doing something right yet an earlier article bemoans the fact that Siri lost out heavily to Alexa.

Perhaps the real fact is that for most Apple users something like Siri/Cortana/Alexa/Hey Google is just not that important in the grand scheme of things.

I and my Twitter followers have decided to call out fake news about Apple. There is a lot of fake news!

When an analyst published a story about Amazon possibly become the first trillion dollar company last week, I showed that to reach $1 trillion Amazon would have an additional Apple's evaluation to close to the $1 trillion mark.

This week Fortune published an article about an analyst claiming Microsoft could become the first $1 trillion company. I immediately contacted the Fortune author and informed her of last week's article. Now waiting for a Fortune update that questions what analysts are reporting.

Another analyst (IDC) claimed Alexa, Echo were the leaders. The author was immediately called out as being wrong.

A lot of people are producing fake news and need to be called out for doing so.

  • Qualcomm profit plummets nearly 90 percent amid Apple legal spat

Qualcomm’s stock is rising because an analyst got on CNBC this morning and said it wouldn’t be easy for Apple to drop Qualcomm. After that Qualcomm’s stock started rising. The one thing you can always expect from any analyst is to prop up Apple competitors.

  • Workflow looks to have long future at Apple, but users face short-term changes

Hey Mike Wuerthele, here is the Twitter link to Marco Arment's tweets about why Google apps are no longer supported by Workflow:

If I had not read Marco's tweets nearly two weeks ago I would have thought Apple dropped Google app support because it was Google as you had written. Others will just take your writing as truth and blame Apple due to not having a clearer understanding of why app support was dropped. Maybe an update to this article could be provided to clear up what occurred.

What a waste of money, time and effort!
I doubt Apple's employees consider this gift a waste of money, time and effort.

And, as a stock holder, I am okay with it.

  • Tile accuses Apple of antitrust behavior in letter to EU regulators

To me, Tile's complaint is about having to deal with the reactions of informed users. In the past Title had the ability to indiscriminately collect user location data all day every day without users being informed beyond the initial request for location access. With users being informed about the collection their location data and being informed how to limit the collection, Tile has decided to go on a public relations campaign to damage Apple instead of changing its location collection practices. The campaign may be having the opposite outcome Tile has been aiming for. The harder Tile pushes for changes in iOS the more users become informed about how much Tiles wants to continue collecting their location data.

  • Cellebrite says it can pull data from any iOS device ever made

Reading through the comments it is easy to tell who is pro-Google. The pro-Google people, one person in particular, will try to convince others they have already given up their privacy and shouldn’t worry about Cellibrite can do. Even when Cellibrite cannot protect itself from being hacked, people will be told by the pro-Google camp, you’ve already given up your privacy, you don’t have anything to worry about from Cellibrite hackers. Admit you care about your privacy and the pro-Google camp will relentlessly try to convince you you’re safe since you’ve already given up your privacy.

Carefully read ear through the comments again to notice the recurring “you’ve already given up your privacy” overture. I recommend you care about your privacy because it is your privacy. Ignore the loud few who want you to convince you’ve given up your privacy. If your privacy has already been lost the loud few wouldn’t be here trying to convince you there are other things to worry about.

  • iPhones account for 8 of top 10 cameras in 2016 Flickr report, Apple celebrates by offering Portrai

That damn Tim Cook! He is sitting at the helm of Apple with the successful iPhone 7 Plus that has dual cameras, software-powered Bokeh effect and software-powered 10X telephoto lens. He has to go because Samsung and others will quickly copy and surpass the software that was innovative like yesterday. I am calling for Tim to be replaced with someone else who will... :-)))

  • iPhone, AirPods, Apple Watch all dominate the teen technology market

Does this mean the “cool kids” abandoning AirPods were ignored by the masses?
What do you mean by “cool kids?” I’m 18 and the only people who don’t have AirPods are because they are android users or they don’t have the money to afford one.
There was a recent Wall Street Journal article claiming the cool kids were abandoning AirPods for wired EarPods. The article’s claims were regurgitated without question primarily because it was bad news that could be circulated about Apple.
