  • Apple debuts $249 AirPods Pro with active noise cancellation

Wait- I am going to pay $250 and I can't use it with my Mac running Sierra?  Really?  Why not? They're just bluetooth headsets, right?  My JBL works with my Mac, why won't these?

  • Breaking down Apple's AirPods Pro: 8 features that set them apart

I don't understand how squeezing (which requires both the thumb and forefinger) is better than tapping.  What if I'm wearing gloves?  I can easily tap with gloves, but how am I supposed to get my thumb between the AirPod and my ear without pulling the AirPods out of my ear if I'm wearing gloves?.  It seems to me that squeezing is "harder" in that it takes more time to do than just tapping.

That said, I did pre-order my AIrPods Pro, so I guess I'll find out soon.  Still, it's disconcerting.

  • First look: iPhone 8 series with A11 Bionic chip, wireless charging, more

" the price premium of iPhone X over iPhone 8 is just $50 shy the price of a new iPhone SE"

This is slightly disingenuous.  The correct comparison (both price-wise and feature-wise) is not the iPhone 8 but the iPhone 8 plus.  The 8+ and the X have a MUCH more similar screen size and camera functionality. The price comparison between these two is "only" $150.  Seems to me if you're already spending $850 on the iPhone 8+, springing for a X at $150 is a no-brainer.

The only reason NOT to do this is that you will probably have to wait until January (or maybe even March) to get an iPhone X.  So if you can wait, seems worth it to me...

I do wish they had made a 128 GB version.  64 GB is a tad too small (especially when considering the 12 MP cameras), but 256 is overkill (at least for me)...  128 GB (which is what I have on my iPhone 6 is just right.  Oh well...

  • iOS 13 will be speed-focused with revamped Screen Time, iMessage, Books, Health features

I wish they would bring back the capability of copying PART of a text message.  It's SO BRAINDEAD that I have to copy an entire message, paste it and then delete the 90% of the message I don't want.  Idiots...

  • Fix Apple's Copy and Paste problem on the Mac and iOS with these tools

Before Apple even thinks of making a clipboard manager, they first need to fix copying in Messages!  It's no longer possible to copy PART of a message. You have to copy the entire bubble, paste it, and only then can you select and delete parts.  This is SO braindead!!  And it didn't used to be this way.

On top of that, I can copy from my rMBP, but I cannot paste into Messages on my iPhone X!  I have to paste into Notes, then copy the same text again and only then can I paste into Messages.  Weird, annoying and unprofessional.  Sad...

  • Craig Federighi says iPadOS created because iPad is now a 'truly distinct experience'

Do you think they will one day let us have non-contiguous icons on the Home screen?  I'd love to have a blank row or "holes" of icons to better visually separate out groups (without having to put them in folders).  Such and obvious thing and yet, 9 years after the introduction of the iPad, still a no-show.  Oh well...

  • 16-inch MacBook Pro release, MacBook Air updates predicted for September

I'll add that I also have a 2012 rMBP which is going strong (having replaced the screen, battery and internal SSD) with every port I need actually built in (imagine that!!).  The new MBP will be VERY expensive, especially since I will need dongles galore (USB 2.0, HDMI, SD cards, etc) for work, home and the plane.  Still, I'm sure it will be a nice machine.
