A very false narrative: Samsung Galaxy S8 vs Apple's iPhone
As long as the faithful stay with an iPhone then Apple has many more profitable years ahead.
The problem for the iPhone is not Samsung, like appleinsider seems to think, it is Android in general.
Google, LG, Motorola, Huawei all make great phones and most eclipse iPhone on the camera too. Look at the verge website for their latest camera shootout and you'll see iPhone doesn't even make the podium.
Apple phone inovation has plateaued, technical advancement takes a long time, and because they are running out of features to entice people to upgrade they are now falling behind what was the chasing pack.
As long as the Apple faithful continue buying iPhones, then nothing will change, but don't expect to get best bang for your buck. -

Samsung's Galaxy S8 facial recognition feature defeated with digital photo
Apple peeps, android had facial recognition back in 2013 on ice cream sandwich to unlock their phone.
This tech that hasn't moved forward in a secure enough manner in a long while, and can easily be defeated by a mug shot.
Why is appleinsider trying to bash Samsung on this feature, is it because they are struggling to find something original to click bait on S8?

iOS 11, Android O: What Apple can learn from Google's IO17
This article demonstrates everything I hate about Apple, elitism. Focus on those with money, rather than those that do not.
Those cheaper android phones are still powerful devices, this article makes them out to be no more than a calculator.
I thought Google also announced an easy way to update android which includes even down to graphics drivers, did I dream that? -

Apple slashes iPhone XR prices for Chinese resellers in bid to kickstart demand
coolfactor said:It's not going to help. The Chinese market is affected by other factors than price.
Apple needs to have entry-level products at entry-level prices. I'll keep saying it — releasing a new Mac mini at *twice* the price of the original is not the trend we need to be seeing. The mini is supposed to be their entry-level offering, but is currently priced (and spec'ed) at anything but that. And then the same with iPhone.... ignore the SE, release an XR at the a higher price. It's a scary trend. Let's hope they have the wisdom to bring a new SE with the XR design language. -
