Apple releases watchOS 2.2 with support for pairing multiple Apple Watches to one iPhone
I have two. One for dev use, one for personal (right now each one is paired with a different iPhone).
It'll be wonderful to be able to use the dev device (being a sport model) to wear when doing things that I wouldn't want to risk the more expensive Watch. (Situations I would still like the functionality that also could be damaging to any Watch). If I wanted to do that before, I'd have to un-pair and re-pair every time I switched, wiping out Apple Pay. While not a huge deal since Apple Pay rarely works around here (...more than a year later), it's nice to have an easy way to try without fumbling with a phone.
My use case is inherently rare though. However I'd bet people who do have a 1st get and end up getting a 2nd get will probably want to keep the 1st get as a "beater" and this will allow that more realistic scenario.
I have not tried, but I highly doubt that you'll be able to pair two iPhones to one Watch so the spying thing is a real stretch. -
Didi Chuxing president hints at tech link for Apple's $1 billion investment
Templeton said:The Chinese are good at taking an idea and growing the technology well beyond the original and quickly. This is a good example, 1.1 billion riders? Also no problems with employee/ independant contractor issues. No Class actions in China.
I wouldn't say Apple got in on the ground floor, but they definitely got in to an express car on this one, if the Chinese economy holds. -
New leaks show bigger lens opening on 'iPhone 7,' dual-lens camera on '7 Plus'
I'm all for new camera tech. I just hate that it looks like they just put the thing in a press and pushed out the casing to accommodate it like an el'cheap-o smartphone maker would. At least the 6/6s has a nice ring around the camera protrusion. This just looks like they stopped caring altogether. Hopefully they just did it on the prototypes.

Supply chain expects 2nd-gen Apple Watch in September or October

Come on Apple where are the Mac's? Stop fiddling and get some decent products out. There are people with money to spend if you do a decent job on the upgrades/redesign.
Mac's and PC's are just lasting longer before they are "too slow" and there aren't any real good reasons to upgrade until something stops working. No one is really innovating except video chip makers, Mac's and general use PC's are just stuck in a crappy "evolutionary" cycle.
They are still very much needed, just not being replaced every 3 years or less like some people are used to seeing. People who know anything are actually starting to class them as highly durable goods that could live beyond 5-7 years of use and adjusting accordingly. Everyone else still thinks iPads can do everything and are somehow replacing them despite the iPad not being able to provide a complete work cycle like a desktop or laptop.

Review: DJI's Phantom 4 sets new standard for affordable drones

When he saw me coming over to give him a piece of my mind he ducked inside with the drone fast. It was windy enough out that the drone was having trouble staying in stable flight. You're supposed to stay in visual line of sight (un-aided VLOS) and he was clearly way out with where he was flying it the first time. He went past my property and the next before I lost sight of it behind a line of trees, he had two lines of trees blocking his line of sight. Also not supposed to fly over anyone who is not directly involved with the flight.
Later he was at it again and I got video of him flying over my property and pictures of him in control of it. Local PD later said, frankly, that they didn't know what they could do about it. So because it's new and rules are pretty loose, there is nothing to protect other private citizens from people like this that get a thrill out of invading other people's privacy.
So here is the jerkweasel trying the land quickly because he noticed me heading over:
(had to use a 630mm adapted lens and a crop to stay on public property to get him, yes it's still blurry because it's a bear handling that lens without a tripod)
Nice that you ignored the fact he broke the rules of flight and somehow try to blame me for stuff. You're a real hero.
Next time it's not pictures of the operator I'm taking... it's a trophy. Not a hard shot to make either. -
Apple still working on next-gen external display with integrated graphics card - report
I'd be quite cautious about buying the first or even second gen. No idea how often it would get updated if the past display and current Mac updates are any indication (hint: they should be a big indicator).
The cycle seems to be slowing everywhere except the graphics card market. That market still sees notable gains in performance on a surprisingly short scale compared to other areas these days (rivaled only by mobile CPU/GPUs I'd bet).
I understand Apple's position on this, the ink for the standard to drive >4K displays isn't even dry yet there is demand already. The solutions available now all seem pretty "hacky", even this monitor+GPU combo idea.
Better to wait and embrace the standard first rather than to forge ahead with a product that will be at the bottom of it's class in short order. -
Inside iOS 10: Control Center expands to three panes, offering quick access to Music & Home

It needs to be customizable really. We should be able to just drag/3D touch and drag a row from the settings app to the bottom of the screen to place that option on the control center. If the dragged item was a switch, it makes a toggle. If the dragged item was a group of options, it either takes you right to that point in the settings app, or if you have 3D touch you can 3D touch into the sub menu and get to the switches or you could just have it pull in the menu for direct interaction from settings app if need be.
Or you know... let us have widgets like android instead of all this unnecessary swiping... -
