Apple Fellow Phil Schiller quits Twitter
If more Apple execs leave Twitter, I'm leaving, too. The only reason I've been on there since 2011, other than to keep up to date with various Apple execs, was to stay on top of Apple tech content and writers, a handful of tech journalists and news sites and a few various other accounts. There was usually no other useful content on there. Most of my personal friends left many, many years ago LOL I'm talking if you look at their account, their last post was in 2013!! They always ask why I'm still on there. It was bearable, but things have certainly taken a turn for the worse since Elon's takeover. -

Apple hardware subscription could shift focus away from iPhone shipments
I wouldn’t do it. I like owning things rather than renting, leasing or borrowing. I HATE owing money to anyone and always pay off loans early. I don’t mind at all paying $1,500 for a top line iPhone or $2,600 for a laptop and use it for several years before selling it or trading up to a new one. I’m still on the 11 Pro Max, a late 2015 MBA and an early 2011 iMac! My iPad Air 2 was slowing down big time and running out of space so I bought the 4th gen Air when it came out. I’m actually a month or so away from purchasing a new 24” iMac cause I love that green! 🤗 And it’ll be a fully specked out model since I’ll probably be keeping that for another 10 years. -
Leaked iPhone 14 Pro Max schematic corroborates previous diagrams
This is all good news to me. My favorite iPhones to date is a tie between the 4/4s and 5/5s. So if the 14 will just resemble an upsized 4, I’m good with that. Jony has been amazing, but ever since the 6 up to the 11, these phones have been slippery and hard to pick up off a table and hold because of the rounded sides. I’ve actually dropped them many times where with the 4-5s I never dropped them once. So I welcome the thicker size as that will allow for a better grip and hopefully a bigger, longer lasting battery. I’m definitely upgrading my 11 Pro Max. It’s battery health is down to 89% 😱 -
GM ditching CarPlay & Android Auto for Google-built infotainment system
From my very first vehicle in 1994 (84 ElCamino) up to my 2001 Blazer Xtreme, I was a die hard Chevy fan. But was getting annoyed with them because they weren't adding any new technology features in any of their new cars. No iPod connections, no Bluetooth, no HID or LED lighting (they had the worst functioning headlights, flashlights would have worked better) dollar store speakers and still...STILL a 4 speed transmission. All the cool stuff the imports were putting in their vehicles, GM seemingly refused to do the same. It was like management was well over 100 years old.
So when I needed a new vehicle in 2012 because, why else, the engine died at 97,000 miles, exactly at the time when my credit was at it's lowest, all I could get approved for was a returned 2012 Kia Soul with 24,000 miles on it already at a very high interest rate. All my domestic car loving friends tried to keep me from "turning to the dark side." LOL But that little Kia turned out to be THE BEST car I've ever owned. I could actually see at night thanks to their current century optics, I had an iPod connection and Bluetooth. Much better sounding speakers WITH bass. Six speed transmission and the red dashboard lighting was a nice touch instead of the boring white and blue in all my Chevy's. Doors closed with a promising thud and made great seals, as opposed to Chevy which all had cheap sounding latches and always leaked. And the interior panels!! UGH! I literally had rags stuffed in every one just to keep them from rattling. I wish I making that up. They were most annoying while idle at a stoplight. The build quality was just horrendous! How did these things make it off the assembly line like that? More concerning, what the hell did I ever see in them?
But not one problem with the Kia. So I had no problem trading it in with 137,000 miles on it (had a girlfriend with two young kids, lots of vacations) for a brand new 2017 Soul. But there was nothing wrong with it! The 17's Alien Green abducted meBoth of them have been solid with no issues whatsoever. Never needed anything except regular maintenance. My Chevy's were ALWAYS in the shop.
I love you, America, but yea, I think I'll stick with the "dark side" on this one because they just make better cars than you. -
YouTuber reveals 'iPhone 11' models, claims few changes
Wow! Jony isn’t even out the door yet and the design team is already running around like headless chickens. I love Apple, have for a long time, but that looks HIDEOUS! If this was the first we’ve seen of this, there’d be hope that this person was just stirring the fanboy pot, but it’s not. This same design with that picture window size camera has been floating around for some time now. And they will probably go for $1200-$1800 depending on options. -
U.S. urges Samsung Galaxy Note 7 owners to stop use, return after 26 burned, 55 property damage fir
Now, now, let's not get nasty. We all know how karma works. Samsung still makes great products and this could've happened to anybody, including the almighty Apple. Oh my, can you just imagine the PR on this if it were Apple? Samsung is still a major parts supplier for Apple, correct? So let's not bash Samsung. I don't like the Android OS in any way, but have you seen the Samsung OLED displays and the amazing color on them lately? Wow, what vivid colors! And the cameras take amazing photos. Buuuut....I still can't wait for my black iPhone 7 Plus to arrive (next) Friday
