  • Trump demands 25% tariff on any iPhone not made in the US

No problem, just add 25% to the price in the USA and let customers know why. The Orange one will soon back track.
And get richer cause he bought Apple stocks.

  • Apple Intelligence second wave arrives today -- what you need to know

I have this friend that bought the same clever all electric Volvo as I did. Immediately she disabled al the features I have come to like and find very helping after I got used to them. It took a while of adjusting, but now I don’t want to go back. I expect the same to happen with A.I. in Apple things, perhaps even more so as it is Apple and I’m one hour per day in my car, as with my phone…

  • Trump confirms he reduced tariffs to help Tim Cook

I thought he was saving America and we needed tariffs to build more. It's almost like the organ one has no idea what he's doing beyond greed and corruption.
That Trump does not even understand that this is corruption. No corruption here! Just helpin’ out!

  • How Tim Cook gets Trump to help Apple

when a political leader determines the winner of an economic sector, it’s fascism.

He was voted in because dems had useless candidates, again. He won by default.

Harris had four months to mount a campaign, raise money and introduce herself and her excellent running mate to the American people.  She had a huge uphill battle against a sea of lies told so often that people believed them and the media became exhausted debunking them.
This. It wasn't a sea of lies, it was a tsunami of lies. He won because too many Dems stayed home. Too many Undecideds were selfish.

Main stream media, the news those not addicted to the FAUX News entertainment show watch, was silent on Trump's constant bald face lies. Fact checking was left to online sources that most older people never see. All they wanted to talk about was Biden's performance at the debate. But not one word about Trump's increasingly bizarre performance and memory lapses.

And too many stupid people blindly believed his and RNC's lies targeting their hate and discontent without any basis in truth. They weren't open-minded enough to see his actual character or lack of it. They actually believe life will be better under his rule. His cabinet recommendations don't bother them at all. "Soybeans? That was a one off. Couldn't possibly happen again." Sure.

A huge cloud is headed our way. We had a chance to prepare and ignored it. There is no silver lining for anyone but the 1%, and xenophobes who don't care what it costs, as long has he gets "them" the cause of all their troubles.

Democracy is being stabbed to death and as with Kitty Genovese too many are just ignoring it. And other "patriots" are cheering it on. Trump is escaping justice at every turn and he just gets bolder. His cult members apparently love a good grift.
I read somewhere the following quote that helps me through the day: America will choose the right thing after first trying everything else. I guess this is the trying everything else fase…

  • Next generation CarPlay is missing in action as Apple fails to hit its own deadline

I bought a Volvo XC40 electric this year. Had to use Google to run the car. And with Google it is a seamless experience with lots of information on the battery and such. Plugging in CarPlay feels clunky and outdated. It does not tell me how much change remains when I arrive at destination, nor does it knows where I should recharge. I was truly hoping for a better CarPlay but as the wait continues I think car builders are moving on.

  • Why iPhone mirroring and Mac Live Activities aren't coming to the EU

If iPhone mirroring would mean that Apple would also had to allow Android mirroring, I understand this feature not made available in the EU. This is such a complex discussion between Apple and the EU. Apple not being a closed of system, because how big it is in the EU. But where to put the borders? What part should be open, what part not? Placing them here or there feels somewhat arbitrary.

Indeed! The only other way to make the phone water tight would be vacuum insides.
  • Two of four Thunderbolt 3 ports in new 13" MacBook Pro with Touch Bar have reduced speeds

The comment section shows that the author of the article has not made the cause for the issue clear enough.

Processors today use PCIe to connect everything from Storage controllers, high speed I/O like USB, Thunderbolt and other stuff including SD-Card readers and Graphic Cards (or discrete GPU in case of macbook). And on each processor model there is only a specific number of these lanes available. This means that since Apple has to rely on Intel on this issue, they can't simply change this behavior by putting in a second controller, it's simply not possible because there is no dual core i7 Chip with enough lanes. Thats why Apple has chosen to use the PCH-supplied PCIe-Lanes.

PCH is an additional chip (which is integrated directly in the processor package on some models) which connects to the processor via a seperate high speed bus and it gives you many things included USB, keyboard support, audio and storage interface and additional (about half speed) PCIe-Lanes in one single chip. What I think is the case is that Apple is using these lanes because the processor itself does not supply enough PCIe-lanes.

So obviously, there is nothing to be added from a non-technical viewpoint, because it's not about power consumption or other marketing decisions, it's simply because Intel does not make the chips Apple needs for four Thunderbolt 3 full speed capable ports.
Still, most of the time Apple will not bow down to restrictions others set. If they felt the need to offer four fast ports they would have made it happen. So apparently Apple does not feel the need. I do, I think this machine is somewhat crippled by this design choice. Apple is not earning many sympathy points from me on this one.
