  • Apple fights India antitrust claims by boasting how much developers have been paid

Apple has very little market share in both smartphones and notebooks in India.  How can they be anticompetitive?  Androids and PC's can reach the end user easily and are the vast majority in their respective categories.

  • All of your iPhone icons can be clear in iOS 26 -- if you want to

Why would I want my buttons to be clear?  Just to see the iPhone wallpaper better?  Absurd.  I would be dialling up the buttons to be as opaque as possible so i can see them better.

  • Apple still effectively blocks rival browser engines on iOS despite EU order

    The EU is overstepping again.

If you don't like how Apple does business, there are another 1300 other brands you can buy, that offer all the engines you want, it's called android devices.
On the contrary, the EU is allowed to both legislate and regulate business as it sees fit. You may not like it but your feelings don’t create a sense of obligation for the EU. Sorry to rain on your parade
The EU just caved in on the Digital Tax under US pressure.  POTUS will probably require them to rewrite the DEA (Digital Extortion Act) next.  EU is realizing they also live in glass houses.

  • Senator Warren asks if Apple CEO Tim Cook's Trump playbook is blatant corruption

Warren is a career politician. I’m sure she’s very familiar with corruption.
Unless the definition of “career politician” has changed recently, that is false. She is not a career politician. She was first elected to political office at the age of 63. She spent the majority of her career in academia. Which… I know “academia” is also a word that will trigger some people’s feelings.
And Tim Cook spent the majority of his life in the real world, not academia.  Does Senator Warren think she can get all the manufacturing equipment out of China within 30 days or whatever?  She clearly does not know the road blocks to this in the real world.  She should let Tim do what he does best.  He is responding to the tariffs as best as possible and may have asked Pres. Trump for more time.  What's the big deal?  Would Senator Warren be happier if Apple just suffered market share to Samsung, and the Androids?  Would that make her happy?

  • India iPhone production will be boosted by $1.5B Foxconn investment

Tbh I'd rather see manufacturing continue in China va India. Modi's extremist regime is unstable and unpredictable.
Sure, manufacturing in China is more predictable.  The more you manufacture there, the more nukes you fund pointed at NATO countries ... and the more debt the US will be in.   Both predictable like clockwork.

When you diversify supply chains you gain the upper hand in future negotiations.  Divide and conquer still applies, especially as we move away from China.  Temporary inflation is worth it in the long run as manufacturing becomes more diversified.  The world would be a safer place as well.

  • Apple's AI head John Giannandrea isn't going anywhere, despite delays and stumbles

Well... Apple would like to fire him, but if Apple did, then excellent researchers would follow John and leave Apple.
This domino effect is what makes Apple concern.

Anyone who followed John's philosophy should be fired also.  They had 6 years to get Siri to compete and failed miserably.   A new direction is needed for the gen AI era.
