Google Maps, Waze & other navigation apps finally coming to Apple CarPlay
Glad to see we can ditch Apple Maps- it is not ready for prime time for accurate navigation or traffic routing. Hopefully we will get better streaming radio options. TuneIn Radio Pro has been on CarPlay for a long time but makes my iPhone run hot and no other app I have does that. They have been notified many releases ago and it still is a problem. I would love to see a weather plug in to navigation apps so that drivers could be warned of severe weather along the route so they can delay or re-route and miss the mess. I work in healthcare and pull call. Many times we have to drive in really vile weather and that could be a great thing to have. I doubt any of you want to drive into a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning if you could route around it. -
Uber drops self-driving operation in Arizona, following fatality
I would guess that Apple will be getting the tech spot on before they get out on the street and will hopefully have some tech in place to prevent their testers from drifting off and killing someone.
Apple needs to stay in it’s lane.
They apparently cannot keep both iOS and Mac HW current simultaneously. -
Disney ups the stakes to $70B in bid for 21st Century Fox
Disney is Empire of Evil #1 and Fox/NewsCorp is Empire of Evil #2 Comcast is Empire of Evil #3.
If Apple is getting into content in a big way Disney is a competitor and that will become increasingly apparent over time.
The current market cap of Disney is $160 Billion +/-

Apple CEO Tim Cook visits Washington, D.C., meets with Sen. Mark Warner
And what about Stingrays and the companies that make and sell them? Every level of law enforcement is using them, but have signed NDAs that they even own one and are spying on innocent people by sweeping up all the cell phone usage in an area rather than a targeted method and usually without a warrant.
We all realize that law enforcement has an important job to do, but they want to use cell phones and the internet to be a 24/7365 spy on all of us. Congress, under the control of both parties, has failed to protect the online and digital privacy rights of our citizens.
I do not trust Corporate Democrat Warner to do anything in the public interest on these issues. -
Refurbished 12.9-inch iPad Pro now on sale through Apple's online store
Apple seems to be pushing the iPad Pro as a desktop replacement, but they will not offer consumers a bundle price. And Apple continues to overprice the iPad line. Comparing an iPad Pro to a Surface 3 with both having WiFi and LTE, both having Keyboards and Pens. _________________________________ Surface 3 128GB WiFi and LTE $699 Surface Pen $59.99 Surface keyboard $129.99 $887.99 _________________________________ iPad Pro 128 GB WiFi and LTE $879 Pen $99 Keyboard $149 $1127 -
$369 Apple Watch Series 2 with GPS is swim-proof with 2x brighter display, white ceramic case
So essentially Apple raised the price of the watch.
As a customer who owns an Apple Watch, it (V1 even updated) is not worth the money. $199 would be about right.
