  • Apple Watch Pride face is blocked in Russia by watchOS 5

...Russia is perfectly fine without pride watch faces and bands....
Russia is all sorts of things, except for perfectly fine, mate. Regardless of any watch face.

  • Watch: iPhone X takes on Samsung's Galaxy S9+ in benchmarking bonanza

I think these results say a whole lot more about how well Samsung is doing, versus how well Apple is maintaining its lead. Given that Apple has 100% control of both software and hardware, one would think Apple would be light years ahead, which doesn't seem to be the case. Either Apple is slipping or Samsung is kicking ass. Or a little bit of both. But I think Apple is slipping, IMHO. Their scores should be off-the-charts compared to Samsung, yet the Korean juggernaut, who also makes refrigerators and washing machines, is right there.

If I were Apple, I'd be a little ashamed of how poorly I'm doing compared to a washing-machine company.

This is the equivalent of a Toyota Yaris keeping up with me in my Porsche 911 GT3 as I do hot laps at Nürburgring.
What a nonsensical and dishonest comparison. Toyota Yaris is a small city car, while Samsung Galaxy S is obviously the flagship line of their phones.
Why should it matter, that Apple is in 100% control of both HW and SW? Who's stopping Samsung from doing the same? (Answer: their incapability). Those are just lame excuses for failure.
It absolutely doesn't matter, that Samsung makes washing machines and refrigerators. How does that factor in your user experience with the phone? It's completely irrelevant. What matters is the performance of those phones.

Your spin is hilarious. With great pomp, Samsung releases their flagship phone four months after Apple released theirs, yet it still doesn't measure up to Apple's. And you're telling us, that Apple should be ashamed. For what exactly? For designing a phone the competitors are still unable to match almost halfway into the next cycle?

    Go away, troll.

  • Study: Apple Pay at 9% adoption in US, lags far behind PayPal and traditional payment meth...

There is little incentive for consumers to ditch credit cards, the top form of payment in America, for a mobile payment alternative, du Toit notes. In some cases, swiping or inserting a credit card into a point of sale terminal is easier than pulling out an iPhone, unlocking it and tapping it on an NFC reader.

Integration is another issue. Credit cards are accepted by nearly all U.S. merchants and cash is, obviously, ubiquitous. Brick-and-mortar stores are beginning to adopt touchless solutions like Apple Pay, but the process often requires the purchase and installation of new hardware, as well as acceptance of an operator's terms.
What a smoking pile of rubbish that report is.

ad 1) In no imaginable scenario whatsoever is fishing out my wallet, taking out the credit card and inserting it into a point of sale, putting it back to my wallet and putting the wallet back in my pocket faster, than paying with my iPhone, let alone paying with my Apple Watch, that is already on my wrist and I just double tap the button and put it to the terminal! That is sheer nonsense.

ad b) Here in Europe, contactless payment is everywhere, and in over a year of using Apple pay, I have yet to encounter a brick & mortar store, that wouldn't accept Apple Pay. My experience covers multiple countries in Western, Central/Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.

And there is no Apple Pay vs. credit card dichotomy. One still uses their credit/debit card while using Apple Pay.

The amount of nonsense in that report is just staggering. The author clearly hadn't used Apple Pay once.

  • A12Z chip in 2020 iPad Pro confirmed to be recycled A12X

This sounds to me like way too much conclusion inferred from a mere chip micrograph. If that TechInsights company had a complete GDSII or full chip layout with all the CAD layers of both A12X and A12Z at their disposal, that would be a very different conversation. Significant performance/yield improvements can often be achieved by a revised metal mask set with no change to the front end, typically improved routing of the power grid and/or clock-tree.
The fact, that 8 GPU cores are present in both A12X and A12Z doesn’t mean, that all of them could be theoretically activated at A12X, or that it is indeed the same chip as A12Z.
Also, it’s not evident from the article, whether the yield issues were related to the GPU cores. If they were, the only way to improve yield would be taping out all the GPU cores as theoretically usable, and then disabling one during the wafer sort (either a faulty one, or an arbitrarily chosen good one). Because if the same GPU core was disabled on every A12X, I don’t see how that would improve the yield in any significant way.

  • Apple adds 100 emoji to latest iOS 10 beta, promotes diversity and gender equality

Promotion of diversity and gender equality is fine, but the thing with the water pistol is perhaps driven a tad too far.

  • EU tax investigation concludes, Apple hammered with $14.5 billion bill

Here's what will happen. There will be an international arbitration dragging on for months. In the end, Apple will pay some token fine, but not even close to the amount claimed by the EU Commission. So, the only palpable result will be, that two teams of lawyers who already are filthy rich, will get filthy richer. The only question is: who'll pay the bills for the party: Apple, or the citizens of the EU.

Now Margrethe Vestager is a character to keep one's eyes on. She lead the 3rd strongest coalition party in Helle Thorning-Schmidt's government, yet somehow she managed to pull an awful lot of strings, much more than the second coalition party. Not surprised one little bit to see her involved in this. She's been a go-getter from day one.

Somebody should make a movie where all white people on the planet gets wiped out by a mysterious disease hundreds of years ago, and white people just go extinct, they disappear. We would get to see what the planet would look like today without all of the contributions made to mankind by white people, including technology, medicine, political, human rights, and so on, and so on.

It wouldn't be a pretty picture, I can guarantee you that! And you sure as hell wouldn't be sitting here typing on your computer right now, if you lived in such a world. :#
It'd be a world free of misery. Of non oppressed people. We wouldn't need medicine to cure us of the ills created by white people. No engineered food.

No killing of indigenous people with smallpox, nor plying them with alcohol or opium to incapacitate them.

Need I go on? That would be a great movie.
You need not. You've already proven beyond any doubt, that you are a racist.

    Trivia time
Q: Does it still count for racism, if the object of hatred are whites?
    A: Yes, it does.

Free of misery? Non oppressed people? Let me laugh real hard. Answer the following:

How are whites responsible for muslim Arabs in Egypt, Syria etc. systematically oppressing their coptic Christian countrymen?
How are the whites responsible for ISIS in Syria murdering the Jazidi people ant turning their women to sex slaves?
How are whites responsible for the Chinese government oppressing the Falun Gong, Tibetans and the nomads in the north (stealing their land and forcing them to move to cities)?
How are the whites responsible for the fact n-th generation of Korean immigrants are still being treated poorly in civilised Japan?
And I guess the whites are also responsible for the fact, that Khmer Rouge in Cambodia decimated one quarter of their own nation, right?
The whites are also surely responsible for the atrocious horrors committed by the Japanese on Chinese and Koreans during WW2, right?
And I guess the whites are to blame for the Cultural Revolution in China and the milions of deaths it costed.

The whites have caused an awful lot of oppression and suffering. But by far not all of it. Claiming the world would be oppression free without the whites is an utter lunacy. And racism.
