DesignNev said:Basically they put this inside the iPhone over a 3.5mm Jack. Not the compromise I think most consumers would like to make.

Apple uses platform dominance to 'lock out' competition, says Elizabeth Warren
"They want to have their cake and eat everyone else's too."
Says the people who haven't ever had cake. If you can't make money off of 10 million users paying $10 a month, maybe, just maybe the problem isn't the stores, it's that nobody without a piece in hardware makes anything streaming music, even with the meager artist royalties. Wonder why that is. -

iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro will alert users if non-genuine display is installed
entropys said:How often will it pop up though? Only once, at install or in the settings if you ask, other wise it would get old.
if my iPhone is near new I would want to spend the money in Apple parts, but once they are older, I will seek repair as cheaply as possible. I would not want that message popping up everyday.

Inside the iPhone 7: Apple's Taptic Engine, explained
DesignNev said:If we have to remove this "old port" @nolamacguy doen't need, can I have 10% larger battery which by my rough calculations you would get by removing these 2 bits of tech?). The choice isn't just features vs battery life, it's features vs. battery life that would primarily impact the people who don't quite make it through the day on a charge.
On a personal level I'd rather have 3D touch and the improved Taptic Engine and just buy a battery case if I was in that edge case.
