oh its not intended just for hobbyists.  The features that those who are hobbyists would want to do are available for free.   The more advanced features are available for the subscription...but if you even have just the Photoshop single app subscription,  all of Fresco's premium features are available.

This could be a cool feature. I very briefly used a Surface. The one thing I loved about that was the pencil & the haptic feedback it had, where it’d stimulate drawing on paper w/ the feedback

The 12.9 inch iPad Pro was listed as sold out on both sites.  As of today, it switched to being on backorder until 3/31/17 on Verizon's site and was removed completely from AT&Ts website.   Is this indicative that an update is coming soon?

I don't know, your comment makes it seem rather complex. Complexity breeds confusion. So I think Panzer is right in using the word confounding. It comes down to the buyer and their needs.

Start with how much you want to spend on a computer, then ask what it will be used for. Got $1,500 and want to draw? iPad Pro. Got $800 and want to write? iPad Air. Got $1,200 and going to college? MacBook Air.

It all depends on use case.

I use my iPad for my illustration work and I'm "downsizing" my iPad from the 12.9 Pro to a maxed out M1 Air.  Most of the time I work, I work at the couch, so the slightly smaller screen will be a better fit for me.

This is going to sound really odd, because I don't ever want to return to an office, but as a Graphic Designer, I don't really need to be in an office to get work done.  That said, I get the push back about returning back to the office for Apple Employees, BUT, part of me wonders if the little bugs that popped up in the past year, like the Studio Display webcam, if that would have been caught earlier on if they were in office or how much more would we have seen released with people in office there.  I can see software being remotely somewhat,  but the hardware teams and the engineers I don't see working remotely helping them.  I could be totally wrong about it.

One thing I realized with the Apple Pencil Pro in comparison with Wacom Styluses is Wacom only had one stylus IIRC that had could detect rotation, and that was the Art Pen, which was long discontinued. It was released back around their original Pro Pen (which didn't have rotation). ALL of their current styluses, the Pro Pen 2 & 3 never had this.  Occasionally I get this idea that there's something I'm missing out on being iPad only, so I entertain the idea of getting a Mac & a Cintiq, only hating the experience and either selling them or returning them.  I love it all being on my iPad
