I don't give a rat's rear end about benchmarks. All I care about is how well my devices work. Do they perform the functions properly and quickly? We see these stories comparing iOS devices and Macs with other products all the time, and none of them matter to me. Just because another phone is faster than an iPhone on some benchmark makes no difference to me. All I care about is the user experience. It's the same with a Mac. I don't care if Dell is making laptops that are faster than my MacBook Pro. Windows is the thing that makes me not want to buy the Dell. Regular consumers don't give a crap about benchmarks.

I took the day off from my job at CompUSA corporate HQ to go stand in line at the third Apple store to open, Apple Willow Bend in Plano, Texas. This store was designated as "R008" even though it was number 3 to open. I stood in line for about 3 hours. I wasn't buying a new Mac that day. Instead, I bought a really great USB scanner that I used until I got an Intel Mac 5 years later. The scanner driver wasn't compatible with Intel Macs. I started working at Apple Willow Bend in January 2003. I was later promoted to Mac Genius. I left in late 2007 to become an Apple consultant.

It doesn't matter how great Google's hardware is. Android is still crap.

Considering what Apple has been doing to its server product for the last six years, macOS Server is only good enough to be a home server. I take care of several Mac servers, and when they need to be replaced, I must sadly move them to another OS. In some cases, I can move the data to the cloud, but I won't be able to do that with all of them.

When I pre-ordered my first Apple Watch in April 2015, I was given a June delivery date. I was really annoyed about that, and I too considered canceling the order. On Wednesday the next week, I got a preparing to ship notification, and I had my Apple Watch on the release day, and I did not have to wait until June. I think you should NOT cancel your order. Be patient. What happened for me with my first Apple Watch might happen for you too.

H1N1 in 2009 was much worse. Look it up if you've forgotten. It was 11 years ago, so most people don't bother to remember past events to understand the present. Apple didn't close any stores then, and they shouldn't have to now. About 1000 people had died in the US before Obama declared an emergency, and no one in the media or in the Republican Party criticized him for it. Trump shuts down flights from China in January, and then puts in motion a lot of other measures, and they can't stop complaining and politicizing. This. Will. Blow. Over. It's not that big of a deal. It's smart to take precautions, but this isn't any worse than a bad flu outbreak. And that brings me to another point. The flu infects and kills more people every year than corona virus has or likely will. Why don't we call flu a pandemic? Why don't we shut down flights and close Apple stores when the flu season starts? Some will disagree with me on this, but flame away all you want. I'm right. It's annoying how people forget what happened before. I didn't stop going to shopping malls, flying, or anything else after 9/11, and I will not allow this to make me live my life any different. I always practice good hygiene. When I'm at the gym I use hand sanitizer a lot. I just practice common sense.

Well this is nice, but so what? It's totally irrelevant to me what he uses. I also don't care how much he's paying in taxes every year either. Warren Buffet's insight is valuable, but I don't look to him to decide what products to buy and his seal of approval is only mildly interesting.
