Epic Games CEO slams Apple 'government spyware'
Why are people so up in arms about this? If you have nothing to hide why are you fighting Apple’s attempt to make the world safer from criminals and sick people? This “ceo” made the amazingly stupid comment about “presumption of guilt”? Well, at least in the United States a person is innocent until proven guilty.I’m frankly amazed by the feedback in this forum in the last few days, people who trust and love Apple and now don’t want to help Apple try to make the world safer. If you work for any large company I hope you know that any email, chat messages and files on company computers can be looked at and scanned by security and network admins.
if you want total privacy, get rid of cloud storage and maybe go back to using a typewriter LOL
Apple does not want their products used for crime and is making an attempt to do something about it - what is so hard to understand? -

I have no idea how widespread that problem is, but he claims to have seen "quite a few complaints" online from other people with the same problem. -
Apple objects to app's pear logo trademark application
mainyehc said:Objectively and geometrically speaking, the leaf design is way too similar and it’s on the same side. Also, its angle is similar, only mirrored. Apple does have a bit of a leg to stand on here, I’m afraid.
And no, I’m not (just) a fanboy, but a future PhD in design, and even an undergrad with a keen eye would spot the similarities right away… This isn’t much different from spotting plagiarism in typography, you just have to overlay the curves and see how well they match. Do you want me to? -
Apple's Director of Machine Learning exits over return-to-office policy
mac_dog said:What a great time for apple to turn this into a win for itself, it’s employees and the general workforce. Apple should say, “hey, losing all these good employees bcoz we can’t budge on our RTW Policy isn’t worth it, so maybe we can compromise…”
seems to me perhaps apple (and business in general) doesn’t trust their employees integrity much. Maybe it’s time to let go of that extremely outdated work ethic. I think we’re seeing the American workforce has had a taste of what a real “work/life balance,” actually looks like and they really like it. Good for company moral and good for employee production and ultimately good for the company.
in addition, have seen a number of people who used to work in office are now more out of shape and put on weight. -
Apple, Netflix bail out of bidding war for Will Smith biopic amid controversy
Skeptical said:M68000 said:So, I agree that it was not a good look for Will Smith what happened that night of the awards. But, at the same time we’re talking about a guys wife and she is dealing with some medical issue is what I’ve heard. Really don’t spend time following actors that much as my own time is more valuable, but that is the info on this I believe. There is a line there and I understand that he reacted. If given more time to think about it in a non public place, maybe that would have been different. Will apologized for his part in what happened. I’m not sure I agree with him stepping down or resigning. It’s at the point today where men can no longer be men, everything has to be an act or show in and of itself and be politically correct. I think The apology is enough and people and big companies like Apple and Netflix need to accept that.Based on your logic, should Will Smith now get divorced and stay single the rest of his life? He apologized and he stopped at
the slap. It was not even a punch. It’s over. I feel that the other guy Chris Rock is just as much to blame with his atrocious idea of what humor is. -
Apple's iPhone 13 selling better than past lineups -- with one exception
So, the news continues about how awful sales were for the mini…. That makes it seems so exclusive to have one LOL. I really enjoy mine and don’t care. When I got rid of my 8 plus, I looked at the current iPhone pro max and how big and heavy they are. They are even bigger and heavier than the 8 plus. If you want to walk around with a “brick” go ahead. Phones just seem to keep getting bigger and bigger and heavier and heavier, at what point does it stop? Then, add the weight of case onto it.. could the name “mini” been a bad choice or matter that much? What if they called it iPhone Stealth for example or something much cooler than “mini”, would that have helped sales? The screen on the mini is plenty big enough, perhaps the 5.8 sized screen was the best size yet, which they did on the iPhone X. But the
mini remains a great phone that nobody wants. I wonder what Jobs would think of the ever increasing phone sizes that are the norm today. -
Apple hides job titles of ex-employees, reclassifies them all as 'associates'
Well, I think being called an associate is 100 times better than being called a “resource”. It makes me cringe when I hear management at companies refer to people as “resources”. It sounds demeaning, as if a “resource” is like a light bulb that can be switched out or more brought in for example. I would never refer to an employee as a resource. It sounds so impersonal and disengaged from anything that resembles a team -
