Apple avoids iPhone import ban as ITC rejects Qualcomm patent infringement claims [u]
j2fusion said:I’m really confused here. Other articles are saying an ITC Judge MaryJoan McNamara ruled that Apple did violate a Qualcomm patent and faces a possible import ban. I know there are several court cases happening now, perhaps AI could help by doing an article that maps them out. These are two different cases:"The U.S. International Trade Commission on Tuesday invalidated a Qualcomm patent for a battery-saving feature. Earlier in the day, a separate trade judge said Apple infringed a different Qualcomm patent and recommended certain older models of the iPhone be banned. The commission is scheduled to release a final decision in that case in July."

The question then are we redefining what a monopoly is because one company goes against the grain in almost everything they do and makes more money because of it.Why not compare it to a game console store such as Xbox. You will see that they also charge the same 30%.From the Microsoft store App Developer Agreement (specifically for Xbox games):"Thirty percent (30%) of Net Receipts for: (a) all Apps and In-App Products acquired by Customers in the Microsoft Store on an Xbox console and billed to such Customers on a non-subscription basis"Haven't seen any Epic Games lawsuit against Microsoft. -

I am with you, but I highly doubt there will be another mini. And even if there is one, it won't be in premium materials like stainless steel or titanium.

Apple's $62.9 billion stock buyback program called a bad investment in new report
jasenj1 said:As an AAPL owner, I can't say that I've seen any benefit from the buy backs. My understanding is that buy backs are supposed to increase the value of the remaining shares. But AAPL continues to be volatile and be manipulated by analyst "news". Maybe my dividend has increased - I haven't watched it closely; I'm sure there's a chart out there somewhere that could show dividend vs shares outstanding or some such, and hopefully the buy backs would show a real impact there. Anyone have a link to a "here's why the buy backs were good for AAPL owners" article? The math is pretty simple. Apple buys 5% to 6% of their outstanding shares every year, which boosts the EPS numbers by roughly the same amount. Combined with their annual profit increase of 6% to 7%, the total earnings growth becomes 12%. At this rate, their EPS will nearly double in the next 5 years. Over long term, stock prices track EPS pretty closely. You might find the following article interesting:
