Can I pay for CNN's fake news with fake money? 

I'm old enough to remember buying computers in the late 80s, when a nice machine would run about $3K. That's about $6500 in today's dollars, so the Mac Pro does not feel expensive in any sense to me. 

This is Apple trying to make up for ineffective and incompetent state government. This money will fall into the same black hole as federal funds meant to improve CA's roads and infrastructure, and money meant to help PG&E keep the lights on. 

If you drive up the I280 corridor from San Jose to San Francisco, past Stanford, you can see acres and acres of undeveloped land within a 15 minute commute of Apple. Various state and local regulations prevent this land from being developed. Until the regulatory framework of California changes, nothing will improve.

I tend to agree with those who view this as a waste of shareholder funds. 

I'm afraid Apple TV+ is going to devolve into a haven for all things Woke. Which means no ratings. And no shareholder value.

You're right brother. I'm all in on Apple stuff: Three Apple TVs, all iPhones in the family, more Macs than I can count, etc. I'm not some sort of troll, but please, a "Pro" machine should involve no compromises. Not having HDMI is a compromise. Some people believe spending $5K on a laptop should not include any compromises, and I agree.

It's not as if Apple never makes any mistakes. I remember years ago they took the Firewire interface out of the MacBook. People were up in arms; the next generation, Firewire came back. Remember the famed "butterfly" keyboard? It's history, because it sucked. We can love Apple but still wish for better. I think that's what comment forums are for.
