I'm just going to pretend that I didn't watch the first minute or two of the keynote and ignore any politics.
How horrible that someone considers human rights of others. This wouldn't be political to you if you started believing that people of color deserve equal rights.
It's political crap and I reject it.
Funny how only racists think equal rights for people of color is "political." Everyone else just things it's ethical.
I agree.  Racism, and bigotry in general, is so deeply integrated in so many places, it has to be attacked everywhere.  It’s not just the right thing to do, diversity of people brings diversity of ideas which leads to strength.  Everyone wins.

  • Senate lawmakers introduce bill targeting Apple App Store, Google Play

2/3 Republicans erroneously believe the last election was fraudulent, despite 60+ cases challenging the election being thrown out for a complete lack of evidence.  Lawyers for Trump admitted they had no evidence of fraud.

Here is the relevance:     Because of that, republicans are seeking to blame tech companies. Tech companies are shutting down garbage conspiracy theories, and the republicans are mad about it.

It’s not about Epic.  Epic is nothing.   It’s about power.  And tech companies are undermining Republican power grabs.   So republicans are trying to shut tech down.

    It’s as simple as that.

  • Everything we know about the 'iPhone 14 Pro' so far

You can also get rid of the bump by making the phone thicker, no new tech needed

Why Cook didn’t do more to keep him, I’ll never know. Outside of jobs, Ive was THE soul of Apple.

It’s definitely a different Apple now and not for the better. But… Jobs and Ive were so amazing, influential and competent at passing down their ethos that Apple is still and will continue to be far and away ahead of everyone else. Just wish it had the same level of care.
Couldn’t disagree more.  All of Ives products were crippled, and some horribly so.  And many were ugly.  Apples lineup is now the best it’s ever been, design included.

  • iPhone buyers worldwide may see higher prices because of Trump's tariffs

The Trump circus is probably more concerned about the US being at the leading edge of technology. Apple should make its most sophisticated and advanced components in the US. This would probably solve everything.
No, trump doesn’t care about anything, including tech, except how much money he’s getting.  He’s killing education from kindergarten thru graduate school.  He’s killing science.   Engineering.   He has no care about anything except what he can get from bullying people.  And he’s only got a 8-year-old’s understanding of things and can’t see how  being at the leading edge of science and tech makes us more rich and powerful.  It’s all about what he can get NOW.

  • DOJ goes after US citizen for developing anti-ICE app

Hmm, who could have guessed interfering with law enforcement efforts would be illegal? It's no different than attempting to block a police vehicle doing its duty to protect Americans against those who would do us harm. You know… gang members, drug dealers, convicted felons, cartel thugs, human traffickers, and so on.

And let's call out the specious idea that Ice Block is no different than a radar detector or warning drivers of a speed trap. A speed zone warning is an alert to POTENTIAL law breakers. Ice Block interferes with police efforts to apprehend individuals who have ALREADY BROKEN AT LEAST ONE LAW. Do you see the difference? Well do you?

Pardon me for using logic and pointing out the obvious. Now go ahead and hurl the Leftist phrases you learned from CNN.
It’s flat-out a violation of the 1st amendment to criminalize this app.  You like the 2nd amendment?  Well, it’s second, not first, and the first is free speech.  Which means the government can’t do squat about sharing info.  That is the entire point of the first amendment.  Don’t like it?  Then it sounds like you don’t like democracy. Maybe China or Russia or Communism is more your style.   Cause there ain’t no free speech in communist countries.

And no, the info isn’t criminal.   You see a police car, you can tell someone you saw a police car and where it was.  That is all this is.

  • Some Mac software has made it all the way from 68K to M1 - here's why

For now, I'm telling my clients to buy Intel Macs while they still can, avoid the M1 garbage like the plague it is.
In some professions this could be considered malpractice.

I have a new Intel MacBook Air provided to me by my work.  I got my mom an M1 MacBook Air.

Her M1 MacBook Air **crushes** mine in speed, battery life, fan noise (none versus lots), and temperature.  Its absurd how much better it is.   She tells me every couple days she can’t believe how great it is.  And I have serious envy bc it’s improvements make it dramatically better than mine.

You have some serious sour grapes issues w Apple. Save your anger for Intel bc they’re stuck in the Stone Age.  That’s the real problem.  Even Intel investors are pissed at Intel.  They’re down a path that peaked 10 years ago and seem utterly lost.
