  • Nomad developing accessories for Apple 'AirTags' [u]

I will never buy from Nomad again. I bought a case for my iPhone 12 mini which was further discounted before it shipped a couple days later,. They refused to credit me the difference between my purchase price and the lower sale price. They told me to wait for it to arrive, pay to return it, hope they still had stock and hope the sale was still going on to purchase a new one (obviously the sake would be over). Just kind of gross customer service.

Also, their wireless charging pads are a disaster with the iPhone 12 series in my experience. They won’t charge past 80% (no, it not the battery optimization feature). Nomad worked on a software update, but it didn’t consistently fix the problem. Now I hear they’re blaming Apple.

    Never again.

  • Nomad Leather Keychain review: A better AirTag keyring

Do not buy from Nomad. Terrible, insulting customer service.

Let the company whither and die, as they deserve.

  • Apple MagSafe Battery Pack Review: Great, but controversial

I cant agree with the criticism that the MagSafe battery pack can’t be charged via a MagSafe charger, and therefore it adds bulk in traveling situations. Using a                           Lighting cable, the MagSafe battery literally becomes a MagSafe charger for the phone, as thre battery charges itself. This was one of the features you called out.

Does it go more slowly than the highest potential for MagSafe of 15w? Yes. But who is to say that if the battery could be charged by a MagSafe charger that it would be alllowed to charge at that rate?

Magsafe can be charged by Lightning while charging the phone via MagSafe. I think yours is a bad take.

  • Reports are spreading about a very specific Apple Vision Pro front glass crack

I wonder if those experiencing the hairline cracked glass issue observed the following instructions from Apple? Impossible to say for sure, but it seems like disconnecting the battery cable from the AVP instead of charging the battery while attached to the device may have prevented the cracking issue.

    Store your Apple Vision Pro

    • Disconnect the battery from Apple Vision Pro.
    • Place Apple Vision Pro on a stable, flat surface with the cover glass facing forward and never downward. Or put your device in the Apple Vision Pro Travel Case (sold separately).

And what constitutes “storing”? The device is literally designed to go into a deep sleep after being idle for 24 hours  or something. Why would they include that feature if you’re supposed to disconnect the battery every time you take it off? That’s absurd. Also, disconnecting the battery every single time would require you to power it down every single time, which violates Apple’s usage philosophy completely. For heaven’s sake, you can’t even power the AirPods Max off at all! They want it to be ready to go whenever you go to use it.

I think in your zeal to find fault with the user, you misconstrued the instruct8ons you shared with us. That’s not cool

  • Tariffs and analysts: What to expect from Apple's Q3 2025 earnings

The two tech poster children for tech-related tariffs are Apple and Nvidia. It's maddening when the pain is self-induced. The administration has made a radical departure from previous tactic of limiting sales for Nvidia and I hope that they see the light on Apple as well.

America does better when it can trade with the rest of the world. It's weird when the party that claims to be champions of market forces prove that they very much are not. There are many uncertainties on the horizon for Apple but having your own country fighting against you is really a dumb situation.
When other countries drop their tariffs on American products, America will drop the newly implemented. No more easy access to the American market while they try to shut out or drive up the price of American goods.
