responsive at first, but once it was clear that the controller was bricked, they stopped responding to my messages. Then they ignored me for 7 days. When they finally got back to me, their customer service had no apologies for their unresponsiveness or the product failure, just generic instructions for a warranty replacement.  Meanwhile I did some research and found several other customers with similar experiences: Nimbus+ controllers that died within a few days or weeks, or even right out of the box.

Since I felt I couldn't trust their product quality, and their customer support was terrible, I took the controller back to the store and got a refund. I ended up getting a Sony DualShock 4 controller, and it's worked flawlessly with my AppleTV 4K and my iMac. Two lessons I learned from this: (1) don't let "Made for iPhone" (MFi) certification fool you, and (2) don't buy from SteelSeries.
