  • The EU is betraying iPhone users and weakening privacy for political gain

I applaud you for speaking out against the DMA and highlighting the serious consequences it brings. The EU’s actions are not just stifling innovation but also putting user privacy and security at risk. It’s great to see voices pushing back against these harmful regulations, and I hope more people will join in raising awareness. The DMA is a step in the wrong direction, and it’s crucial that we continue to challenge it before more damage is done.

  • EU tells Apple to open everything up to its rivals

Sorry but the EU really needs to f*#$k off in this. Sorry have no other words for it. There are different strategies, and a closed ecosystem is one of them.  In my opinion we need to be very vocal about this. Enough is enough

  • Apple hits back at DOJ antitrust suit paragraph by paragraph in scathing response

The doj has my blood boiling. They need to stop these nonsense! Apple always had a closed ecosystem around many products. And that is also what makes them great. We as the users should speak out loud that we don’t want, what the doj thinks/wants.

  • Apple may look late to AI but it's aiming for something different

Many tech journalists are quick to say Apple is “late” to the AI race, but they’re missing the bigger picture. Just because Apple hasn’t rushed out flashy demos or standalone AI products doesn’t mean it’s behind. In fact, all major AI models are already available on Apple’s platform—developers now have access to on-device and server-based foundation models through Apple’s new APIs. These models are deeply integrated across iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, with privacy and user context at the core.

What critics overlook is that releasing something early doesn’t always mean leading. Sometimes, holding back signals that something bigger is coming—something more polished, more useful, and more sustainable. Apple has a track record of entering new spaces deliberately, and then changing the game.

And let’s be honest: most current AI features across the industry still aren’t generating real revenue. Apple is focused on building tools that serve its ecosystem and users first—not chasing hype.

I think she is one of the few that actually can connect the dots and explains the bigger picture. And in my opinion many news sites fail to see.

Another thing I think many new sites fail to see is some things are build in plain sight. I think they made liquid glass to let users get used to transparent interfaces, because that is something you will use with glasses. Also the widgets they build for visionOS feels like something that is build for glasses.

I'm pretty sure when everything falls into place it will be an exciting time!

  • YouTube restricts iOS 14 picture-in-picture feature to Premium subscribers, 4K not availab...

Its still possible to play YouTube in pip mode in the iPhone in safari. If you force the website to load in desktop mode, the you can still activate Picture in Picture. For the rest, install an adblocker to help against the ads on YouTube.

  • Behind the scenes, Siri's failed iOS 18 upgrade was a decade-long managerial car crash

Giannandrea came from Google, but he was never trained to think the Apple way. One of the reasons Apple worked so well for so long is because it thought different — a mindset Steve Jobs instilled deeply in the company. That way of thinking shouldn’t be assumed; it must be taught. If Apple wants to keep its soul intact, it needs to train new people in the culture that made it great. Hope they will learn from it.

  • Apple's RoomPlan API will enable iPhone & iPad to map out a house

I recently discovered that there are a bunch of iOS apps that use the iPhone's LIDAR sensor for scanning rooms and small/large objects, including output to CAD. Of course, this is for home/hobbyist use (not engineering/professional use), but I was very surprised and impressed!
    Which apps?

I'm an architectural designer, but they couldd be fun to play with.
I could see blocking out a drawing with a quick overall plan and using my measurements to get all the details correct.
Photocatch is working on a version with this feature

  • macOS 26 Phone app will eventually combine iPhone calls & desktop seamlessly

What I still miss is to send a number from your mac to your iPhone and it’s starts calling. Because in an enterprise world you most of the time can’t call from your Mac. But it would be handy if I could click the phone number on the website en call with my iPhone
