  • Zuckerberg's Apple Vision Pro hot take just gave him a Ballmer iPhone moment

The value proposition is different for everyone. A single person can look at the Apple Vision Pro ("AVP") and see a replacement for his or her laptop, external monitor(s), TV and Home Cinema and think that $3500 is cheap to replace these devices with one that does offer better functionality, productivity and overall enjoyment.  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What truly excites me about the AVP is what Apple calls Spatial Computing: the ability to run everyday apps with virtual monitors that you can configure essentially any way you want. This, for me, is the "killer" app for the AVP. I can't wait to see how effective it will be to do real work on a daily basis.

  • Apple hourly workers feel helpless under punishing pressure & mistreatment

Apple must stop the bs and put in practice what it preaches. I have been a long-time customer of Apple (Mac's, IPads, IPhones, IPods, Airpods, etc, etc, etc.) for myself and every member of my family and I must say that I was thoughghly upset when I read about how Apple is treating its front-line employees. This is how American capitalism has run amok and failed the very large majority of citizens: the obscene enrichment of a very few to the detriment of the rest. This is outrageous in light of Cook, Federici & al pocketing their hundreds of $Millions in remuneration and stock options on the back of their front-line employees. This must stop or else....

  • iPadOS 15 confirms Apple's M1-equipped iPad Pro is a V8 engine powering a Ford Pinto

Don't get me wrong, I've been a Mac user for over 20 years now. But this does not mean that Apple or its products are perfect. The IPadOS is inhibiting the M1 IPad Pro from reaching its true potential. Period. And whether you like it or not, Apple is behaving in the exact same way that Bill Gates ran Microsoft in his heydays: like a true monopolist. They game the tax system around the world, like every other rapacious multinational corporation currently ruining our planet. They pretend to be concerned about privacy because their business model allows them to prioritize privacy without hurting their bottom line all the while hurting the bottom line of their competitors. Apple only addresses its user's demands when its competitors start addressing these demands in a meaningful way. Apple will not give its users a proper OS for the IPad Pro's until a competitor shows up with something compelling that may sway Apple users. Microsoft 365 may very well force Apple to finally relent in equipping its IPad Pro's with a true Pro OS. Although far from perfect, Windows 365 would allow IPad Pro users to enjoy the benefit of a fully capable OS with a fully capable file system, with real pro apps.

  • Microsoft announces Apple Silicon compatible browser-based Windows 365

Apple is not “dummying down iPad os.  iPad OS is the most capable and flexible it has ever been and they continue to enhance it.  “Drumming down” would be to render it less useful than it was previously—exactly the opposite of what is objectively happening.
True multi-tasking, external monitor support, multiple account support, true file management, pro apps, are all distressingly lacking in IPadOS (14 and 15). The M1 IPad Pro is a total waste of hardware capability with the current incarnation of IPadOS. Considering that a fully loaded 12.9" M1 IPad Pro ($2,399) is more expensive than the equivalent fully loaded M1 MacBook Air ($1,869) and the fully loaded 13" M1 MacBook Pro ($2,119), anyone with half a brain is better off buying an M1 MacBook Air or a 13" M1 MacBook Pro. The M1 chip is totally wasted on an IPad Pro with the current incarnation of IPadOS. Until Apple ceases to dum-down the IPadOS, I honestly see absolutely no reason for purchasing an M1 IPad Pro.
