Weak demand for MacBook, Apple Watch, AirPods may have caused order cuts
I doubt anything will change, but Apple’s pricing policy is not in keeping for folks faced with increased heating bills, increased prices and wages not keeping pace with any of it. All of my previously comfortable Apple subs are under review. I’m making do with my older phone for another year. Much coveted AirPods Max are a no-go for the foreseeable*. Etc.*First world problems, I know -
Bono takes the blame for the 2014 iTunes U2 album disaster
hodar said:Bono may have agreed to “give it away”; but let’s take a moment of honesty. Bono has ZERO authority to speak on behalf of what iTunes (Apple) actually DID

Tim Cook: We spent on AI companies in the quarter, but nobody big
ApplePoor said:Not going to be lots of "Thanks" coming from the hundreds of millions who purchased the iPhone 16 models that were falsely advertised last year they would have a working "Siri assistant" in 2024/2025.
Folks should just pass on the iPhone 17 series that is rumored to get 12GB of ram when next year we will see 16GB of ram on every Apple product as the minimum for Apple AI (what ever that means) and all prior generations will have crippled performance due to insufficient memory.
The tariffs will just add insult to injury to the buying public. Hopefully, Apple sales tank and they have an awakening that lying to the customer base has consequences.
Somehow, from 1990 to 2024, Apple was able to introduce new products without a bunch of significant lies. The deceptive advertising happened on Tim Cook's watch and there should be negative responses from the Board of Directors and certainly NO bonus money or stock options. Somebody has to be held accountable that is currently employed or soon to be a "former" employee of Apple. -

Apple's AI ambitions go beyond Siri LLM with Knowledge chatbot and always-on AI copilot
Apple is famously secretive and quality obsessed - two laudable traits. For a tech company, there is no way they are not close to what’s happening with AI, not just what is ready to implement now, but also what’s coming. Currently agentic AI is hot. Where might that lead? How will this fit? LLMs are just one piece, one cog in the machine.
As soon as something is stable, reliable, basically of truly sound quality, we will see it. Until then, if AI is what you’re after, stick with the main players and enjoy the near weekly advances and its disruptive impact. This genie isn’t going back in the bottle. And speaking as a coder, yes there are concerns for my career going forward, but we’re not stopping it. I did a week’s worth of coding in one day last week. As it stands, that makes me more productive. I think it’s that aspect - major productivity gains - Apple will embrace. When it’s ready.
