  • 'Scary Fast' iMac with M3 is here with few external changes

It makes me nervous when Apple keeps talking about graphics when talking performance increase.  Even the new chip features they talked about were graphics focused.   Not everyone is doing high end graphics work.  Sound like these chips are all about Vision Pro and the graphics workload they will have.   Have to wait for sites to test  but I wonder if doing audio will benefit.   Audio work on M1 and M2 are about the same so how much will it change with M3.

  • Apple confirms iOS 17 fix for overheating iPhones is on the way

They will probably take a page from the IBM OS2 game book.  Apple will dial back performance of their chip to reduce heat on the chip that was suppose to run cooler.  Then like OS2 they will crank up the screen IO to make things appear to the user as still speedy.  I'd say Apple and TSMC has pushed out the 3nm chips before they are ready for prime time.

  • Arm wants more than $0.30 per iPhone from Apple, but won't get it

Apple would be really stupid to play games with ARM.    Apple moved to using its own chips and all are based on ARM something you don't easily change.    Apple has ridiculous profit margins and biggest tech company around they could easy pay ARM more and barely notice it, but losing ARM would cost them in a lot trying to find another partner.    Tim Cook emulating Steve Jobs bully tactics could really backfire now that you're so deep into silicon business for your own products.

  • Apple rumored to launch new Macs in October

Stupid move people keep asking for the return of the 27" iMac.   I'd buy a new 27" M-series iMac instantly if they put one out.

  • iPhone 15 USB-C will fix some problems, but create issues for most

Change is normal with everything including Apple it's just part of life and we adapt and move on.

Look at Apple the Apple II was a very hugely popular computer used by schools, businesses, and at home, could run multiple OSes,  but Apple came out with the Mac.   The Mac was a new CPU,  a new operating system MacOS,  closed system, crazy expensive, and little software.   Apple shoved SCSI in to the world with the Mac, a headed design with a tiny screen.    Apple didn't stop changing changing chips again,  dropping SCSI,  at one point multiple internal busses in difference models, Apple Unix, Apple the software company Apple not a software company and owning an Mac was risky.   Apple will say it was all innovation, but a lot was just to make do things there way.

This is just a port change and not the first on the iPhone, quit making such a big deal out of it.  Life as you know it isn't coming to an end, at some point you'll switch and you'll have to adjust and then just moving on.   But don't worry like the headphone jack disappearing Apples going to make that charging port disappear in the near future too.  Now that will be a big change, but they will do it and people will live.

  • Apple Vision Pro shipments rumored to start as soon as February

I sure hope these people will like paying $3500 to be a beta tester.   If typical Apple timeline for major new devices or changes it will take two or three years to workout the bugs and make it something for the masses.

  • Apple Vision Pro shipment dates slip nearly instantly

So did Apple seriously screw up estimating how many orders there would be, or is this a Apple Marketing department scheme to hype up people into ordering before it even gets in the hands of the public and word gets out about it.

  • Spotify speaks out against Apple's 30% commission fee -- again

It's obscene how much Spotify screws over Musicians and Songwriters and they whine like little bitches when Apple returns the favor.   F' Spotify!!!!

  • M3 MacBook Air vs M2 MacBook Air -- Compared

It's a paper spec bump, but will the average Apple user even notice a difference with their typical use.  As fast as Apple's M-series chips are the only people who are even going to notice are people working in graphic heavy jobs.   Forget spec's is the computer faster doing your daily computer tasks.

  • Apple walks away empty handed at the Oscars

I'm getting old so didn't see most the movies that were nominated I did see Killers of the Flower Moon and Oppenheimer.   Part of the reason is movies are getting too dam long going three hour plus that is keeping me away from the theaters.   So long movie I will wait for them to stream so I can pause for bathroom breaks, plus watching on my 27" iMac and good monitors its still an excellent visual and audio experience.    Back to the movie I thought Killers of the Flower Moon was excellent and the movie I was hoping would win.   Oppenheimer was good movie, but I don't think it deserved all  the awards it won.  Only other film I was pulling for that didn't win was Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.  I liked the style of the graphics and the change ups in the story from the old Batman.

I'm sure Apple is disappointed, but don't think that will curtail them from making more movies, they have received a lot of good press for Killers of the Flower Moon and a lot of the important word of mouth from those that saw it.
