'Scary Fast' iMac with M3 is here with few external changes
It makes me nervous when Apple keeps talking about graphics when talking performance increase. Even the new chip features they talked about were graphics focused. Not everyone is doing high end graphics work. Sound like these chips are all about Vision Pro and the graphics workload they will have. Have to wait for sites to test but I wonder if doing audio will benefit. Audio work on M1 and M2 are about the same so how much will it change with M3. -
Apple Watch Series 10 review: Faster charging, redesign, and watchOS 11 make it worth buyi...
I'm really happy with my S10 46mm exactly what I wanted to replace my S7 41mm. After having this 46mm I can't imagine every buying the even bigger Ultra. The S10 the battery life is better, easier to read watch face, taking phone calls on the watch people don't complain they can't hear me like they did on the S7, so glad I got the S10. -
Arm wants more than $0.30 per iPhone from Apple, but won't get it
Apple would be really stupid to play games with ARM. Apple moved to using its own chips and all are based on ARM something you don't easily change. Apple has ridiculous profit margins and biggest tech company around they could easy pay ARM more and barely notice it, but losing ARM would cost them in a lot trying to find another partner. Tim Cook emulating Steve Jobs bully tactics could really backfire now that you're so deep into silicon business for your own products. -

Today only: Get an 8TB 16-inch MacBook Pro for $1,899
I got one of those the last time they had a deal like that. Listing said it was New Open Box for a 32GB and 8TB that a hell of a deal. Be aware you can't get AppleCare for it I tried and no go. It's been great I do audio and more than enough speed even for big projects. Beware if any issues getting ahold of Woot is basically impossible. Being they are part of Amazon I contacted Amazon and they try to tell you to go to Woot. Finally Amazon basically said they have a Woot person they will forward my Amazon ticket to, never heard back from them. The laptop did arrive and no issues so it worked out, but I'm not sure if I would buy from Woot again. -
Apple posts new M4 iMac announcement video, confirms more products coming
What a way to start the big Apple week of announcements with a chip update to a boring iMac. Hey release a 30+" iMac and then you'll have something to talk about. So Apple you going to make everyone wait all week for the new form factor Mac Mini, it the only thing expected to come that isn't just a chip update.

Apple execs address Mac mini's hidden power button in 2024 redesign
Steve Jobs was obsessed with profit margins and Tim Cook is doing the same so putting the power button in a totally stupid location is just a way to save a dollar or two and not cut into the profit margins by putting the power button on the case. Then Apple calling in the troops of is hardcore fanboy YouTubers to spread the word.... just say who turns off their Macs" as the battlecry to spread. Sorry Apple you were being cheap not willing to give up dollar of profit margin to do something right. I bet Apple Intelligence would tell Cook "that's a stupid idea Tim".
