Gosh, you know what might really impact American phone companies? A big tariff on all phones not Made in America! But if you launch a new brand, and intimate that your new phone is Made in America (even if it is only to slap a 47 and 45 and with some gold paint), there are plenty of red hatted fools who will happily throw money their way. Never mind that recent reports suggest that the tariffs could cause the price of the iPhone to exceed $3000, and it might take ten years before there is sufficient manufacturing capacity stateside to offer a phone that is fully Made in America.
