Mystery wireless Apple device goes through FCC testing for a third time
My guess is that these are for installation in Apple Campus 2. RS-485 is used for lots of things, but building automation makes the most sense to me. They are going to need a very large number of badge readers in their new campus. It makes no sense for them to limit themselves to the standard controllers. Using devices with NFC would allow them to use iPhones, Apple Watches, as well as passive devices. The Bluetooth LE would be seen by the devices to know where they are in the building and other cool features. It would allow Apple to control the innovation platform for their building automation. They have enough facilities around the world to justify making their own. -

Shipping delays continue to dog Apple's 4" iPhone SE
Why ding Cook on Logistics and Operations when what he really lacked was a Crystal Ball to know exactly how successful the SE would be? Now that they are getting to know more of what they need, I'm sure that logistics and operations knowledge is helping them close the gap faster than most people would. But what are you going to do when you get the mother of all 4in backlogs.
Sounds more like Cook should be praised for pursuing the SE in general. -

FCC chairman urges Apple to activate FM radios in iPhones in light of recent disasters [u]...
If you live in a hurricane prone area, you should have a hand crank emergency weather radio. How would people in Puerto Rico be powering their iPhones to use as radios when they are mostly without any power anyway? These little radios can be had for like $20 now and they have flashlights, radios, can even crank to charge your smart phone. I guess Apple should also make a crank accessory? Pai is such an idiot. -

Sheesh! It's colorful, unique angle that has a warm, multicultural vibe. Very Apple.
It is obviously in response to 45 and his immigration policies with a positive message to the contrary. -

It is cool that they used more modern iconography in patterns to make it feel like the black and white patterns on the early Mac Paint palette. Thanks for posting this external shot. I noticed it on the Apple logo in the store, but nice to see the larger use. -
