Apple CEO Tim Cook personally invested $1 million in Trump's inauguration
lordjohnwhorfin said:Actually he’s controversial because he’s a traitor, a convicted criminal, a convicted sex offender, a con artist, and a buffoon who makes this country a laughingstock on the international stage.

Apple issues $1.04 billion in second round of Australian bonds
peteo said:So a CEO who has a private company jet to fly places when they could just take public airlines and standard class is not wasteful? But if its a government employee it is? Yes government wastes allot of money but its not like they are taking dollars and burning them. It goes into some ones pocket. Hopefully not some one too rich since they tend to hoard their money and spend it over seas .The issue I see is the government generally has little incentive to stop waste or to maximize return on dollars spent, unlike a majority of the private sector. So yes, a million dollar roadwork contract gets dispersed in all various ways back into the economy, but the value of the expenditure is generally very poor.
There's almost nothing governments do very well, efficiently, and with accountability.

US senators question big tech, including Apple, on the reason behind inauguration donation...
Whatever you think about Trump, it will be a far better four years than corrupt, derelict, puppet presidency of a senile man trying to prop up divisive, anti-American and (finally) dying, stale liberal policies. Just saying. Enjoy fellas!
Regarding donations: it's legal.
Regarding Biden generally "getting less" from the tech firms for his inauguration. Of course. Why show support to man who was going to sic regulatory and judicial harassment on their industry? It's not very different than any one of us making donations to a candidate. You do so to support your desire for political direction and policy. They are showing they like what they perceive Trump will mean to American innovation vs the prior administration. And hopefully he will extend and exert US influence to the EU and others who are damaging and extorting US companies through mostly non-sensical punitive financial and business-alerting regulatory actions.

Apple fights back against shareholders who want to end DEI hiring
Calvinator said:My goodness, all the verbal gymnastics here arguing against something as common sense as hiring the most qualified person for the job.
Funny, as nearly every writer here at AppleInsider appears to be white! (based on the author photos)… Wesley, resign to make room for a DEI hire! Do the right thing!
What is the definition of “white”? I look white by every definition, but had a half middle eastern / half Eastern European heritage. But I’m a white….minority??
