Page Layout - I think you missed a feature I've found very useful.  Under the File menu, there is an option to "Convert To Page Layout".  By removing a lot of the style and formatting elements, you can now create free form designs with text, images, etc however you want.  It's certainly no desktop publishing replacement but MANY of us out here just need something like this for amateur or even semi-professional layouts and are never going to invest in the expensive alternates.  A number of the templates appear to use this option.  This give you a way to start of with a converted blank document or convert a document you've started but now want to work on in a freer style.  Yes, I'm well aware of the Freeform app and love it.  This is just another tool.
