DOJ seeks to delay Apple encryption hearing, says it may be able to unlock iPhone after all [u]
My take is that the FBI finally realized they had a poor hand going into tomorrow's court appearance, and they would rather have no decision than have a loss. The court should have none of this ossification. Last week the moved the format to a full evidentiary hearing, now this. Apple should demand the order be vacated tomorrow. -

FBI director calls for restart of smartphone encryption debate
Well, he is starting the discussion by declaring his ignorance: "he did understand why Apple chose litigation as a venue to start the conversation." It is well documented that Apple started the discussion about the San Bernardino iPhone by giving the FBI immediate access to the information they had. THEN, in a press release, the FBI & DOJ blindsided Apple by slapping them with a court order to create a govOS version if iOS. Last I looked, that FBI court order is the very definition of "starting litigation". So Mr. Director, who started the litigation???? -
Actually, there is something new about Apple's upcoming iPhone 7
tomasulu said:So many words and still iphone 7 will be to iPhone 6s what iPhone 6s was to iPhone 6. Everything's improved but nothing will be really new and desirable. And we all knew how iPhone 6s turned out. I have been using iPhone 6 Plus for two years and I should be upgrading but I'm not. I bet there will be many iPhone 6 users like me. -
Apple's Cook, Maestri bullish on short- and long-term iPhone SE impact
Still is a large contingent if 4S, 5 and 5S out there. It would be foolish to dismiss the desires of those folks to keep a smaller form factor while still getting newer electronics. Apple did not gamble on the success of the SE, as they know their customers. The did under estimate the demand. Yes, price is enticing, also. -
Eddy Cue repeatedly visited Washington Post, New York Times in failed Apple News+ bid
davgreg said:The NYT and WaPo both went through near-death experiences transitioning from ad-supported free online to a subscription-based model. Both are now highly profitable and have subscribers from an upscale demographic set. Why would they want to cut their prices and then share revenue with Apple ..... -

Apple's Mac refresh includes universal drop in SSD upgrade prices
"The latter two choices are $200 and $400" should read "the first two choices". I looked at the new Air on APple's site. Changing the default 128GB to 512 GB is a $400 option.... 1TB is $600.https://forums.appleinsider.com/entry/signin?Target=https://appleinsider.com/articles/19/07/09/apples-mac-refresh-includes-universal-drop-in-ssd-upgrade-prices -
Review: Apple's 4" iPhone SE is better than we deserve
rhonin said:Not a bad update however to classify it as a 4.5 / 5 when it is only marginally better than a 5S is a bit of a misnomer. Is it worth an upgrade from a 5S on a 2 year or payment plan? Don't think so. I can see this as more of an entry level device. Still, they could have done better. -
Apple again rumored to axe iPhone home button in 2017
Reviews of the iPhone 7 rarely mention the new A10 processor - even when published by Apple-centric sites like Appleinsider. http://bgr.com/2016/08/23/iphone-7-vs-iphone-6s-vs-galaxy-note-7/
