  • Users lobby 1Password to abandon new Electron version

If you just use Apple devices and only need what keychain has to offer, then that’s all fine. But password managers do things like provide 2FA support, store a lot more data types, and provide tge ability to share with others.

When we need our insurance IDs and digital copies of the cards, I’ve got it. Social Security info for the whole family is always with me. Passports, drivers licenses, my car VINS and license plates, reward programs, and banking info. Always with me.

And best feature. When my wife inevitably asks me for those types of things, I waive her off with the phrase “1Password”.

  • Apple resolved M1 Mac SSD wear reporting issue in macOS 11.4

I’ve always questioned this non-removable HD. What if someone wrote a virus to  massively R/W (read/write) to the drive ?  If prolific, could be very costly or maybe impossible for Apple to replace or take care of.
Good news!! Apple has already removed the HD from MacBooks, so it apparently is totally removable. They replaced it with an SSD.

  • Apple Ring: Two decades of rumors and speculation about a smart ring

Had two generations of Oura (pre subscription). Data collection was good but masking it with “scores” was lame. Then it’s decreasing battery life led them to a trash can. Got a RingConn and  battery life of 7+ days is excellent with no subscription. Still too much “scoring” instead of just reporting standard metrics but does report a lot more. Unobtrusive and, at 55, appreciate having more data points to add to my Apple Watch, Qardio, and other tools.

Health ain’t just visiting a doctor once or twice per year. If you get into your sixties in bad health, the latter years are going to be absolutely awful.

  • Apple investigated, took action against alleged sexism at Cupertino headquarters

Charming, the douche-bros are here on cue, largely the same group as the homophobes that crawl out every once in a while.  Do you guys stick to being rape jokers in the workplace, or do you venture out a bit and do some tit gazing and ass slapping?
Funny. I only have three of them in my "known" list but there are apparently five of them. Someone is lurking.

Must really kill them that an empathetic human being is running Apple now and actively promoting social causes - not just personally but creating a culture within Apple for those causes.

Fire all of these special snowflakes and disgusting lunatics with mental issues that get triggered by every slightest thing.

SJWS are among the weakest and most pathetic breed of humans to have ever existed.

SJWS should never be hired in the first place, if one is looking for good and productive employees that will actually excel at their jobs.

That's funny, I read that executives took action - which suggests the complaints had merit.
I can tell you have zero experience in the corporate world.
Yeah, not like those moron executives in Apple's management team. I mean, "anonymous Internet misogynist" obviously knows more than the ones running the biggest company in the world.

  • Judge tosses lawsuit over 'Error 53' triggered by Touch ID repairs

Exactly how was it frivolous? iPhones absolutely did experience the Error 53. That error prevented the use of the phone, access to the data on the phone, and for many weeks Apple actually said that it wasn't going to address the issue.

Change the whole story to a car. You have a car and have an aftermarket item installed and the car won't turn on due simply to a software check.

I'm a shareholder, but people experienced damages due to encoding the Error 53 situation that left iPhones completely unusable. They have deserve to have resolution to that situation. And for those who think Apple's ultimate resolution negates the problem, put your phone in a drawer for two weeks and come back to let us know whether that caused a problem for you. I'm not suggesting this is a get rich quick opportunity, but restitution is deserved.
