Virgin Australia bans all MacBook, MacBook Pro models from checked bags
Unless they're 100% BANNED FROM FLIGHT, this isn't really an issue. Nearly all US-based airlines already ban ALL lithium batteries from checked luggage, so this isn't a surprise at all. It's to the point where any and all electronic devices need to be brought onto the plane in carry on. Shocked anywhere else in the world let you even put them in checked luggage still. -

Adobe releases public beta of Premiere Pro for Apple Silicon
^^^
While it did survive, Adobe abandoned Premiere 7.0 / Premiere Pro CS / 1.0 for Mac in 2003/2004 while they re-wrote the entire program for Intel CPUs. Was not available on Mac again until CS3 in 2007. Some would argue it was not really "useable" in a professional capacity until CS5.5 or CS6 which happened to be around the same time Apple abandoned FCP7 in favor of FCP-X. -
Almost nobody in the US used the Apple & Google COVID-19 apps
For all the companies trying to get back to in-person operations, exposure notification on work devices will be required by your liability insurance policies unless better tracking mechanisms are implemented. It is cheap and easy to deploy to an office that has everyone using a mobile device. The scan keycard systems that support contact tracing are not widely used outside of very large companies with large offices. -

Apple predicted to launch 16-inch MacBook Pro this week
I think it's a smart move to release a brand new model this time of year. Gives motivation to sell 2018/2019 15" models at a discount, which retailers want for holiday sales. Let's face it - Apple laptop products are expensive, people still want them and always ask for them at the holidays. This may be an opportunity for enough of a discount to satisfy that. -
