Apple needs an AI-powered folding iPhone to stem its decline in China, says Kuo
“ He's not expecting an iPhone fold then, though. Instead, he believes that's when Apple will be able to produce an iPhone with hardware features to help with AI.”
Everyone seems to be saying that Apple needs to add hardware to support AI. All of the recent iPhones have a neural engine and I thought that this was all about ML and AI. Is there something else that the iPhone needs for AI?
All of the AI PCs recently announced have simply added a neural engine and now claim to be AI-ready. If that’s all that is needed, then Apple has been producing AI-capable hardware for several years now, so I really don’t get why the press seems to think the hardware needs to change. Software, yes, but the hardware fully supports AI as it is now.
