  • Video review: LG's UltraFine 5K Thunderbolt 3 display, 6 months later

While this monitor is gorgeous, it has been a disaster for the clients I had who bought them. I am no longer recommending them, nor are the Apple Stores I've worked with. Below are the problems I've seen on 4 separate monitors:

    - Flickering due to wifi. We sent our first monitor in to be fixed with the extra shielding but the problem still happened after it came back. We ended up returning it.
    - Kernel panics when connecting TB3 and/or waking up from sleep (seen this on 4 separate monitors)
    - Display brightness arbitrarily turns down to the lowest setting, giving the appearance that it is off
    - USB post on the back are not always recognized when hooking back up via TB3, forcing the user to unplug and plug back in the USB cables.

I know not everyone may have these issues, but we'll see countless references of them on Apple's review page, Apple discussion boards, and other places where people discuss these issues. Luckily this monitor has been such a disaster that it has reminded Apple that they need to make monitors again which they've confirmed they are working on for the future.

  • iPhone 11 Ultra Wideband could be at core of Apple Car keyless entry

I hope it performs better than Tesla's implementation of the phone being your car key. My friend has a Tesla 3 and his most hated thing about the car is how unreliable getting in and out of his car has been when using the phone, especially if he is on a current phone call. He often times has to hang up, then the car will unlock, then he can call the person back. The solution to this is to include a keyfob for those who want to use it, but Tesla sells that separately on the Model 3.

  • Apple Pay abruptly dropped by JCPenney, is no longer accepted in store [u]

They probably want the shopper data back, simple as that.

  • iPhone X delivery times fall to within one week in US

Still waiting for the Apple Store to stock the unlocked iPhone X. :-/
I just bought my business partner a full priced, unlocked Verizon model and he popped his ATT SIM card in. Unlike a few weeks ago, you can now buy an iPhone at the Apple Store without connecting a carrier. You still need to choose the Verizon model, but nothing else needs to be done after purchase besides popping in your SIM.

  • VisionTek's new dock has support for two 4K displays on M1 Macs, plus 100W power

Never been a fan of docks that require drivers as they don't always keep up with latest OS updates. I'll stick to OWC or CalDigit for docks.

  • Initial 'The Morning Show' reviews were 'attack on Apple,' executive producers say

I think the show is fantastic and is a great flagship show for AppleTV+. While I haven't talked to many people about it, the reception has been favorable and has an 8.3 on IMDB which is pretty damn high for a TV show. Luckily Apple is great at ignoring all the critic chatter and doing their own thing.

  • 2019 'iPhone 11' may play audio over two Bluetooth devices at once

What I want to see is Apple allow two different people's AirPods connect to one iOS device for doing things like watching a show together on an airplane.

  • Updated and enhanced AirTag expected in 2025

I'm guessing that the new ones will not cause many to want update any of their current AirTags. I do have one that I'll probably get for a keycard so that the AirTag puck doesn't bulge out of the plastic card holder, but that's about it and it's also not a pressing issue.

Anyone use one of the FindMy-compatible Chipolo, Orbit, Eufy, et al. wallet cards?
I thought my Chipilo sucked, I don't use it anymore. It was good at telling you the last location your wallet was at, but can't tell you easily where in that location it is at. I would often times lose my wallet in my house, and I would practically have to find my wallet before the Chipilo would start beeping when requested. I have since stuck a bulky AirTag in my wallet and while it is not ideal, I can actually find my wallet quickly now. I do hope that Apple makes a wallet version.
