Hey, that was exactly what I did for my Vaio, which I have since sold. Love that lappy. Only 1.7kg light and a battery that lasted 4 hours, and this was more than 3 years ago

In Activity Monitor, under the Network tab, the Data sent/received gets reset randomly. I have Activity running all the time and the computer running all the time (no sleep) and yet it gets reset to zero randomly.
