This is good news for Blu-Ray: Much Cheapness!! While I want Blu-Ray to prevail, I hope they price HD-DVDs this low too, that way the consumer wins.

It makes sense for content providers to support both formats, whereas manufacturers can be more choosy.

Those glasses have very low-res screens, often 320x240, so running an OS would be tricky. Cool idea though.

*If* Apple goes down the cell carrier route I would expect a SIM free unlocked device - it's just easier.

Why are people obsessed by 1080p when most people can't tell the difference? LCD are progressive by nature, and 1080p only gets noticable over 50". Is it just willy waving?

Maybe they realise ICT is a platform killer? A lot of people bought LCDs and plasmas before HDTV or HDMI was born. They are perfectly good 1024x768 screens that may only be a few years old. Rebuying for just a DRM ridden port just isn't going to hap…

I don't see UMPC as a business tool, actually nor does MS with its Origami concept of it, it is a consumer tablet. I'd use one out and about - MacBook Pro is great but not that portable - for blogging, web access, email etc anywhere. Sure it's a…
