I'm so surprised that they haven't yet moved the Volume indicator to the side of the screen, as on iOS. We even saw a rumor showcasing that, but instead, it's ignored and remains smack in the middle where it covers up videos that are playing. Genius!

TheVerge has a great breakdown of the history. https://www.theverge.com/2023/12/28/24016913/apple-patent-dispute-masimo-lagemo-true-wearables# Pulse oximetry was invented by Takuo Aoyagi, not Masimo. While I have been siding with Masimo for the mo…

I haven't looked closely at the patents in question, but isn't it the general idea of using light that's at issue? That makes it a hardware violation, not software. I can't think of any other way it can be done, so if it is this light-based approach…

When was this feature introduced? I never saw it until after reading this article, opening the Settings > Camera, and then opening the Camera app. Suddenly the Grid and Spirit Level lines appeared. I didn't change any settings, so maybe opening S…

Change is inevitable. Those that try to hold onto the past are stuck in the past.

The iMessage network is not "open" like much of the internet, so this was unauthorized access. Bleeper was planning to share the code in the open-source space so it could be reviewed. Imagine how many nefarious folks could take that and abuse it b…

Apple is dragging dead weight by partnering with established members of the antiquated banking industry. They should do this in-house. Keep it lean and mean and modern. Drives me nuts that the banking industry is still Monday-to-Friday, 9am-5pm fo…

Wooooooo! Looking at this photo gives me the shivers! Spooky! It's either a computational processing glitch, or this was deliberately staged. I didn't realize the computational photography feature would stitch portions of multiple photos together.…

Waiting 4 generations was smart to really notice a differences. Otherwise, they are so incremental from one year to the next, it's hard to notice. The camera has been great for several generations.

Here in Canada, when using a Crypto ATM, the transaction fee can be upwards of $50, regardless of how much crypt is purchased. Fees are high in the crypt economy, but the profit potential is even greater, so it balances itself out.

While extremely expensive to set up, I think a service like this should always be free to access. Maybe the governments should be funding it along with 9-1-1 and the like.

I thought Home Key was already based on an open standard. There should be a single standard covering all types of digital locks.... car, home, safes..
