How come the 970FX is so much slower than the previous 970 at a faster processor speed? 5800 MIPS at 2Ghz versus 7584 MIPS at 1.8Ghz for the previous 970 (130nm) doesn't seem to make sense. That's quite a bit slower.

IBM themselves though said that the 1.8Ghz PPC970 would get 937 and 1051 on SPECint and SPECfp. So the 2.0Ghz part should get somewhat higher scores. Do you think they forgot to turn off the bus slewing, or didn't use Darwin?
