MacPro said: Stereoscopic camera on the pro iPhones soon, seems a logical next step to me. Agree MacPro, if you don’t have to wear the goggly-eyed headset when you shot 3D VR video, it will rapidly accelerate adoption.

Does anyone know if this change at Reddit has occurred because AI LLMs have mined Reddit for conversational language free of charge? I am assuming they use the APIs to do this and Reddit wants a piece of the action? Just asking.

In further defense of Apple and their design policies. My Apple products are by far and away the longest lived consumer products in my home and good design and dust and water proofing are the key components of reducing e-waste compared to products …

jdw said: Perhaps I am misunderstanding something, but the video said that to avoid motion sickness, the latency must be LESS THAN 10ms. However, isn't the Vision Pro Latency 12ms? From my read of the article, it sounds like processing base…

This is the unfolding ritual of an new Apple product reveal- 1. Existing companies make half-baked products that don’t get mass adoption. 2. Apple toils away in secret to improve the product. 3. The product is released and competitors and tech-pu…

For those who don’t get it, imagine the sensation of having this if you have a neuromuscular condition? For certain people with disabilities it will be freeing. And as medical equipment goes $3500 is inexpensive.

Agree JP234, I suspect Mark Z and the FB/Meta crowd are having some sleepless nights now.

I’ll stick with my Logitech doorbell camera thank you.

OK, I get the repeated comments about a $3K price tag but my first Apple computer (an LC2 with a monitor) that I purchased in 1991 cost $2,700 with an educational discount. Outside of some used Macs, every Mac I have purchased has been more expensi…

Seems like humans are doing a good job of destroying Earth by ourselves without the use of an AI. AI may come to the same conclusion and offer a solution for the problem of us. I tried to talk to chatGPT about this and it was evasive about its opi…

The EU wants back doors to encryption, the EU wants consumer privacy, the EU wants open App stores, the EU wants to ban chatGPT, the EU wants open standards, the EU wants a single charging cable, the EU wants to be on the technological cutting edge,…

Can’t wait for the brave new world of sideloading that the EU is mandating. Hopefully they will spend the resources to police these secondary App stores (but I doubt it).

and I agree with his comments about the nonsense of diversification, better to invest in three good ideas than have no good ideas and just spread money over the market at large.

The other amazing thing about TC & company has been the skillful pivot to services being a significant portion of revenue. If there is a launch of AR/VR soon, it is amazing that the R&D hasn’t effected operating expenses or profit margin.

Yeah amen to that Charlesn.

Before this update, my iPhone 6S would suddenly crash during periods of heavy use and it stopped with this battery management update. Apple’s motivation for the “throttling” was to extend the life of its phones and to prevent sudden crashes. This …

Agree beyond the commonly held things that AR/VR will be used for, spectator sports has the potential to be the sleeper application. And in terms of price (if it truly is going to be $3000 who knows?), people routinely spends thousands of dollars o…

I am sure MZ and the folks at Meta are having some sleepless nights.

Judging from the enthusiastic reception Apple and TC are getting, this seems to be a modest prediction. I have to say I was at first dubious about Apple’s expansion into India but Tim Cook was right in his optimism about this diverse country. Ther…
