I'm in the UK, and Vodafone (one of the five networks that have the iPhone 4 here) called me today asking if I wanted an iPhone 4. I couldn't take them up on it as I didn't have a PAC (to transfer my number to them). But they said they were getting …

I've not seen Apple claim that the iPhone 4 is faster than the 3GS - has anyone else?

Apple pay that $11.47 (or whatever) to Foxconn to assemble the iPad. I'd guess Apple are entirely responsible for sourcing the components and getting them to Foxconn's factories.

Microsoft Communicator is for intra-business communication and on Windows at least, is pretty rubbish. It doesn't even support basics like sending files. Plus, the way we have it set up at work, breaks every link you send by prefixing it with an…

I do Skype video chats on my Mac all the time (hours a day normally), so I could see a use for this. Especially if the Skype app supports it.

Apple really should update the style of their message boxes and input boxes, they are clunky. Many could be replaced with less modal notifications.

I find it interesting that a sort-of 3rd party app the iBooks app can sync data with iTunes. It'd be nice if they expanded this to other 3rd party apps, though it'd probably clutter iTunes even more!

If it's a bright day and the sun is behind your MacBook, you can already see the sun shining through the Apple Logo on the screen. Not terribly useful, and very occasionally annoying.

Could the iBook store being downloadable from iTunes point to apple allowing 3rd party apps to use iTunes for syncing? Perhaps? Maybe they decided to use the iBook app as a test case for this?

Incidentally, while out-and-about in the last week, I've seen 2 people using their iPhones with big cracks on the top half of the screen. Both were using the keyboard-half fine though. Strange coincidence - they were hundreds of miles away from each…

I'd expect the games can work on a MacBook, but I'd say they'd have to be fairly low resolution. One thing that bothers me about mac gaming is that they don't let you command+tab while playing.

For those who don't know, The Telegraph is the main UK right-wing 'broadsheet' (as in, not tabloid) paper. It generally has a fairly good standard of journalism, and this article does seem to be oddly slanted against Apple - I wonder why?

Porting a game from Windows to Mac, is substantially easier than most apps, as they rarely rely on many OS APIs or GUI. Porting from DirectX to OpenGL is not a major issue - and many engines already support both. Any console-PC port or multi-console…

There's a massive market of young people who can't afford the cost of an iPhone, and more importantly it's contract. These are traditionally a big market for the iPod, so it'd make sense to try to get a phone that could be approaching the iPod Touch…
