If the Verge were in charge of consumer technology, we'd be swimming in a sea of defective turds with headphone jacks, like the Nexus 7

I don't know how anyone can criticize Apple for doing this. I do think that they should have disclosed when this feature was added and how it works. But I would much rather my device slow down than shut down. If anyone is concerned about their phone…

If HomePod performs as well as a Sonos Play 5, I’ll eat my shoe.

I know Steve told Tim, "don't ask what I would do." But I can't help but think that Steve would not go for the HomePod. I don't know how many of you ever had the opportunity to listen to an iPod Hi-Fi. I have and they were amazing. Steve called it "…

It does not matter if the government keeps it a secret. - It's old technology. An iPhone 5c, no Touch ID, totally different security architecture. - The engineers at Apple probably knew how it could be hacked long before the FBI and whoever help…

I say this is GREAT! Let all the attention shift away from Apple to the government. Perhaps now the issue of encryption can be addressed rationally. As far as how the FBI did it? Don't care, don't ask don't tell.

This issue is no different than the delivery of electricity. Imagine if you lived in Las Vegas and there was a cap on your total electricity usage because the casinos paid the power company a fee and your power went out every day for about an hour, …
