I use Apple Pay whenever I can, with my Watch. In the UK most shops have an unlimited amount so is much more useful than a card tap and go which has a £30 limit. It also saves carrying excess stuff about and avoids being caught out if you don’t have…

dysamoria said: Getting sick of company after company pushing subscription models. I will not participate. I can not afford to participate. The “low rates” are a trap for people who don’t see how small bills add up. Every damned media compa…

Will any Apple apps and iCloud work this time round? None of mine have since Public Beta 1. To be fair to Apple it did ask for further files following a feedback submission.

HomePod is a very sophisticated device, playing music with a very high tonal quality. I tend to listen to music as a pastime, rather than having a jangly noise in the background. Consequently, I pay more for sound reproduction equipment. To that …

It should be an interesting case: suing for damages on something which doesn’t work. Not a great advertisement for your next project. Will Apple counter-sue on the basis the software is rubbish?

Re: interest rates. In the UK, the standard rates are around 20%, with some rates around 30% or more, so 13ish% looks like a bargain. On other points, we don’t use cheques much and monthly payments are by VADD, and we don’t link cards. It will be …

Ooh, highly sensitive recordings. How exciting! Anybody is more than welcome to listen into the rubbish my Home Pod would record: how was your day? Okay, thanks. My hayfever’s bad today. I had some weird dreams last night. Heh, Siri, what’s the wea…

Still no iCloud and a message that all my saved documents are damaged and unavailable. Keynote, Numbers and Pages all completely not working. No access to Music and no ability to update apps. This series of beta updates has, effectively, stopped my …

Here we go again.

Still no data plan or WiFi access for my Apple Watch.

I just hope my Apple devices will now work properly again.

Public beta 3 seems to be a bit better but I still can’t get the data plan on my Apple Watch to retain the setting, so no data plan again! Out of 8 weeks of having the Watch, the data plan has worked for lees than 2 days.

I reported many problems with Version 1 and I am pleased to report they all seem to have been rectified in Version 2.

I would like to recommend public beta 1 is not downloaded. I am experiencing a large number of problems which are hampering the use of my devices. I have subscribed to the public betas for some years and up to now have had no problems. This is wha…

I am not a high-end professional user though I have a MacBook Pro for home use. I do not feel the price of the new Mac Pro is disproportionately expensive, by comparison, and the same goes for the new monitor and stand. The stand, which has been c…

I fail to see why Apple should allow anyone else to run their apps or sell them without it being through the Apple App Store. Having this arrangement gives the customer peace of mind that (a) the app is fully tested, (b) the app is fully compliant …

The other advantage with Apple products is that they work extremely well and integrate properly. Anything bought on one device is immediately picked up by the others. The hardware also comes with a massive suite of software, some obvious and some …

Following my post a short while ago, it is available though by going through Apple Books. Very odd!

I have just followed the link to Everyone Can Create: Music and it is no longer available. I am based in the UK.

I don’t think Apple is doomed any more than any other company its size. It has a wide range of products and services which are increasingly in demand. Apple will continue to innovate and the rest will continue to copy. It would be great if Apple s…
