I have found a workround and that is: "Don’t enable HTTPS-Only Mode" in Firefox settings. This shouldn't be necessary, but as most sites use https the security risks are probably minimal.

Generally speaking I'm a supporter of the EU but this regarding batteries is plain daft. For some items replacement will be relatively simple but others such as cars where the battery is a structural element are definitely not user replaceable. Wo…

JWSC said: But with Brexit and horrible unions it’s a no-brainer for Apple to NOT see the U.K. as a good place for an assembly plant. The old Unions have been emasculated since the early 80s and are pretty much an irrelevancy so far as manufa…

I don't get how competition is being restricted. I'm in the UK and as far as I know I can use whatever credit/debit card I like - it's simply a matter of registering the card and iPhone with the bank/credit company. The banks and credit companies …

The only person I know that plays Fornite does it on a game console, so I doubt they could give a toss whether it's on iOS or not. Agree with others on this thread; using your customers as pawns in your business battles is not good and can easily b…

Folks are crawling all over Zoom in a way that it couldn't have expected, prior to the CV-19 crisis. My University insists on people using Microsoft Teams, since they regard Zoom as a hacker's paradise. Zoom is leaking peoples’ email addresses a…

How do you get hold of one of the (supposedly) more secure FERPA/HIPAA client versions? It is possible to download and installer from the zoomgov site but there's no clear indication as to whether it is more secure. The installers look much the sa…

Gruber also has a piece on this. Out of interest, Zoom claim they are FERPA/HIPAA compliant, but does this mean they have separate more secure versions for Education and the medical profession?

By the sound of it if Apple is paying Royalties over and above any that are included in the modem chip costs. Apparently Qualcomm is still double dipping and it appears there's nothing whatever Apple can do about it if they want iPhone modems.

But is Apple really focussing on users? There's an interesting piece on Fraser Spiers Blog on how a vocal advocate of iPads is moving to a ChromeBook as his default mobile computing device. The combination of power and portability across several u…
