Russia is a growingly irrelevant country

You’d think an Apple-focused periodical would realize it’s not about being first. Or even know anything about the subject matter and realize CarPlay integration like this is likely never coming to Tesla.

@Ihatescreennames I agree with you 100% I’ve followed this topic closely for a long time. My main “concern” (nothing at all related to Apple) is that the consortium of folks who put together the ISO (more at link below) were a bunch of administrat…

Anytime AI posts something about Digital ID, I visit this section to see how many comments it took to get to the low-info, ill-informed “No way am I giving my phone to a policeman!” comment. … lol, we got there quick this time! Anyhow, I remain s…

I’m skeptical — of the ISO 18013-5 standard itself, not Apple’s implementation thereof. I think Apple is doing its best to play a bad hand that the government dealt. I also suspect it’s going to take a very, very long time for anyone to be able to …

Btw, I feel sorry for LA citizens … they financed an app development studio in Baton Rouge to create some proprietary ID system and now this Apple/Google standard is here. I imagine LA is in for similar experience as we saw with Apple Pay vs. other…

Good article — it’s definitely going to be a decade+ until you can reliably leave your plastic ID at home. An Android developer involved with the ISO standard on which this is based posted this: https://github.com/google/mdl-ref-apps It’s an app…

I’d really like to see Apple offer a validation app (for both Android and iOS) so that Rental Car places // grocery stores // etc. … start the long, slow process of getting non-government places to understand how to accept digital IDs.

Also supports Siri commands as long as the app is open (even in the background)

Man, Mac Mini used to go years between refreshes … suddenly, it’s getting upgraded every 10 months!

If it could just stop deleting my short term app data, that’d be sweet

Some of the HomeKit API restrictions, etc. are super bizarre … think of AppleTV apps — any super cool ones you can think of? Plop.
