A pre-authorization showed up on my card this morning for both the MBP and AppleCare. I thought it was strange that they were two different transactions.

I suspect the ones starting to ship are standard configurations. I ordered the low-end 15" with a 512GB SSD upgrade a few hours after the event ended and the only movement I've seen thus far is my TB3-to-TB2 adapter cable preparing to ship. That upd…

I hope they'll credit me the difference for the TB3-to-TB2 adapter I have on order. EDIT: I had an online chat with a pleasant lady at Apple and she updated the order with the new price.

They should replace "certain" with "early" in the headline. Also, the sub-headline makes it sound like Apple built limitations into the MBP's TB3 configuration, which in this instance is completely false. The limitations are in the devices.

My order for a 15" MBP has been placed! I went with the lower end model and increased the SSD to 512GB. I don't need the higher end graphics, the processor speeds weren't that different, and I saved about $200. My temperamental mid 2010 15" MBP w…

I just got my iPhone 7 Plus on Monday and I updated as part of setup. Everything is working fine, including the Portrait mode. I took a photo of my cat and it came out really nicely.

All I can say is that I will be one of the early adopters. I don't have much of a choice because my mid 2010 MBP likes to randomly kernel panic. I've been tolerating it (barely) since I knew a refresh was coming up.

Announcing the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with built-in fire suppression system. "We're way ahead of the iPhone in terms of thermal management", said a Samsung spokesperson.

I agree that there will need to be an option for Lightning, with the iPhone 7 going to Lightning for audio output. That option may be a USB-C dongle. I doubt it will be used for charging because It's likely not rated high enough for a notebook compu…

...and mine still doesn't support Apple Pay.

Speaking of Korea, my 7 Plus is there at the moment, on its way from China to me.

I wonder if we'll see the wide color gamut in the new MBPs that the iPhone 7/7 Plus have. I suspect so. I'm excited for the new models to be released because it means I can finally retire my mid 2010 MBP that likes to randomly kernel panic.

I believe three-sensor cameras still use filters. The innovation is in the prism, that refracts the light toward the sensors rather than just filtering out the unwanted bandwidths.
