This article is just amazing. Google purchased over 2,000 hardware people from HTC for $1.1 billion people. They have now been onboarded and Google has moved some roles to this new unit. So a net of a plus 2K headcount and a big investment …

Think you have completed missed what is going on. Plus it is happening right in front of us as Google develops in the open on GitHub. They will move to Fuchsia. It is not a question of if but rather when. It is going to provide a much higher lev…

That is a pretty decent jump. I would love to see them start breaking it down inside Android with the Pixel. I would bet that would be a lot higher. With the AI stuff Google is doing and then the fact they do not play the game of trying to use n…

Pixel 2 is last year's phone. Be interesting to see how much faster is the pixel 3 and how much Google increased the gap. The pixel 2 also has the better camera and would expect that to also improve this year and increase the gap over the iPhone. …

Pixel is the gold standard for cameras. Weird not comparing the iPhone to it. Even last year's pixel has the better camera.

Google is rumored to also be creating one. So will wait and see and decide which to get. Super exciting device area. Too bad Amazon could not see the light and lift their ban on all competing Google products sold by third parties on their marketp…

Google news is just an excellwex piece of software and going to take something better from Apple. The killer feature is the full coverage button. Something Apple needs to copy.

The new Google assistant smart displays look cool but were already sold out at our Costco. Think they underestimated interest. magman1979 said: It's Android (Google), has a camera on it, so automatic NEVER in my household. There is a shu…

Google will keep iterating and will slowly gain share. This is typical Google MO. They took years and years before Chrome became a thing and now completely dominates. Google alway comes late and when people think the segment is dead and wins th…

Now that would make a ton of sense and hope it is true. There just does not seem to be much coming out of Apple any longer and really someone needs to compete with Google instead of giving everything to them. Our school use to be almost all Ap…

Not at all surprising. The Google Home is much easier to use than Alexa or Siri. Then it is also just a lot smarter. More than anything the smart speaker is an extension to search so doubt we will see Amazon or Apple able to be competitive.

Google gets paid either way so not sure if it matters. But having used both can not see how you would ever think Apple news is better. The key difference is the full coverage button that Google offers. I will read some article and make me curi…

No ability to connect to use as a sound bar as no input jack like the Google Home Max made it impossible for us to get a HomePod. But then so many features missing. Hard to see why anyone would buy at this point. Saw the latest numbers and the…

Please provide some backup for this statement - I have read quite a few articles and the code that was "copied" was always the API (outline) i.e. java.util.BigDecimal. - no implementation code. You will NOT see it. Google did not copy…

This ruling is a lot bigger then this situation. If APIs can now be copyrighted the entire industry will change dramatically. We have copied APIs for decades and it is vital for the tech world we have today. Heck, Oracle themselves abuse this…

My kids school use to be all Macs and then the grade school iPads But about 18 months ago the last Macs which were in the library for AR at the grade school were replaced with Chromebases. Chromebases are basically the Google versus of iMacs. …

It is really hard to figure out what Apple was thinking with the HomePod. I mean it is a speaker and no input jack like on the Google Home Max. So you can not use it with your TV and leverage the processor creating the incredible sound. But the b…
