30G it's fine now. had it plugged to a usb hub. switched it to a direct usb on the computer.

it was because i had it on a usb hub. i switched it directly to the computer it works fine now. only bummer is i have no ports on front, it'll be a pain to plug up every time. (whats with all the popups on this board?)

mine is stuck, it won't go off switched hold. held down the menu and play buttons together. (as support online says) nothing. it's still on. my wins system computer says the usb that its plug into can't find hardware.

like drag and drop into the drive where the iPod is plugged into. (files on CD to iPod drive) but from what you just said i'm probably better off going thru iTunes.

ok, great! because i think i have some of their older CDs. hmmm, too bad they can't think of it as keeping up with the times. if i buy something i should be able to listen to it in all types of players.

great to know danielctull, thanks. do you think three year old sony/bmg CDs have this too? also: it's not really about copying music, it's about copying the CD (which i bought) to my iPod that has me concerned.

your whole dvd collection...wow. four years..........excellent. thou i'm sure i'll use mine way more than you. i've heard great thing about apple's iPods which is why i'm choosing to go with apple.
