Rocket, the only thing I can suggest is to try Parallels Compressor tool. It compacts virtual hard disks, therefore saving you real disk space. You can download a trial here: http://www.parallels.com/en/download/compressor/ Lemme know how i…

i've downloaded the RC. looks a little different, had to reinstall parallels tools, which only takes a second anyway. apparently there's supposed to be increased USB support, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.
-
i know for a fact that you can't do that. parallels needs its own structure, sorry.
-
are you asking if you can use the boot camp image to as your windows structure for parallels?
-
I think a bunch of people have had issues w/ various syncs, but hopefully these will all be fixed in the final release.

as far as I know, Parallels is the only game in town right now. I assume it's possible that VMware may put something out in the future, and apparently Microsoft is working on a version of VPC for intel macs, but who knows how they'll compare to par…

i'm say isight has a better chance of being recognized by boot camp. as far as bootcamp being embedded in leopard...Mac sales are gonna go WAY up.

yeah, I mean, it's only simple solitaire. how had is it to find one for macs?
-
do you guys think bootcamp is going to be embedded in the next version of OS X?
-
ha, that's great. if she really wants solitaire, she could run boot camp or parallels to run windows! but that seems like a waste of time just to play solitaire. just get her a deck of cards instead.

Yeah, I understand about the problems w/ 3D gaming. I think the company said they're planning on some typ of 3D support for a future release, but not necessarily for the GA. Hopefully they give free upgrades to user who purchase the original produ…

they remind me of the old GAP commercials, the coloring, backdrops, etc. I wonder if they have the same director...
-
yeah, that seems kind of strange. plus, it doesn't seem like something you're going to be able to find out.
-
thanks, sounds like the most accurate data so far.

I think Parallels runs Windows at close to 100% speed within OS X. I mean for me, when I'm just running normal tasks on windows, i.e. internet, excel, word, e-mail, etc, I'd say it's running at about 95% speed. Some things just take a second longe…

Yeah, way for Mac to exploit the whole virus thing. They've got some smart guys in marketing, since virus-safety is the reason why many mainstream buyers stay away from windows.
-
I'm not sure of a number, but I think Macs represent about 5% of the total computer market.
-
i think boot camp can definitely be a solution if you only need windows for a single application. if you are intersted in using it for various programs, etc, I believe Parallels is the way to go.
-
well, I think in the final release of Parallels, they plan on supporting ALL USB devices. I think that now in these betas the USB suupport is limited but increasing w/ each release. if you want a specific answer, you could try the forum; that's wh…
