I want the ability to transfer images from my digital camera to the iPod for storage without having to use a computer. Previewing the images on the iPod would be a bonus but the storage option is more important.

http://www.oqo.com They had a press release a year or so ago but I haven't heard anything since then. Supposedly they are ex-apple designers or something along those lines. I don't know if this is prototype/design stage stuff or if they have a wo…

I'm curious how the performance of one of these with 512k level 2 cache and no level 3 cache would compare to the current chips Apple is using. If the larger level 2 cache is as much of a boost as AMD would have us believe, Apple could drop the leve…

Here's an article I just saw in which Tim Dougherty, director of blade server strategy for IBM, talks about IBM blade servers using power4 and xeon chips and doesn't even mention the powerpc970. It doesn't really mean anything but seemed worth posti…

The 9700 needs a newer opengl and may be waiting on 10.2.4.

This quote from Apple's description on the new 17" powerbook page makes it sound as if Firewire 800 is not backwards compatible: "The new 17-inch PowerBook G4 has two FireWire ports — one for the hundreds of FireWire 400 peripherals already avai…

AMD is having problems producing enough Athlon chips to meet demand. I wonder if they are looking at Moto Fabs as away to expand Athlon production.
