  • It's been years since I last used it (I'm talking OS 9), but I remember Audion having a "Karaoke" mode which applies those EQ setting for you. I honestly don't know if the current version still has this feature, but it might be worth checking out.

  • As a rule, I only buy "name brand" blank media and I can honestly say that I have had the best results with Sony, Memorex and Philips. I usually buy DVD+R... Also pretty good are Staples brand blank media (made by Imation).
  • Roxio's Jam should be all you need for burning Audio CDs. I usually record mixes into CD Spin Doctor, normalize and edit in Peak and then use Jam for tracking and burning. The cross fade comes in handy (along with the Time Stretch features in …
  • To keep the answer as short as possible: Technology isn't that good, yet. It is still not possible, though you can adjust EQ settings to lower the vocals enough to barely hear them (though this could also distort the backing music track). I take …
  • I have a 1.25GHz G4 (1GB RAM) and Reason 2.5 runs flawlessly on my machine (Tiger v10.4.1). I'm sure you will have absolutely no problems on a G5.

  • I would much rather see Nintendo & Apple join forces than Nintendo get swollowed up by Microsoft. Nintendo & Apple have a lot of things in common - both have proven to be innovators in their respective industries and both have developed tech…
  • Right now, I am in the process of switching my phone and DSL service to another carrier. I have been without my DSL for 2 weeks now. I hadn?t realized that my problems began at the same time as I cancelled the DSL from my old carrier. Anyways, I …
  • Well, I decided to run the 10.3.7 combo updater and sure enough - I'm back to the 3 minute start-up. After a reinstall of Peak 4, it is still not running properly.
  • I did a fresh install of Panther. Everything appears to be working now - except for Peak 4. I'll try re-installing that tonight.
  • I'm trying to avoid the pain-in-the-ass task of backing up all of my files and re-installing Panther. Does anyone know if using the System Restore discs that came with my machine could fix the problem, or would I just be better off reformatting t…

  • Quite honestly, I don't think there is demand for 16x DVD-R media. The +R format pretty much seems to be today's standard.
  • I installed a Pioneer DVR-108 in my PowerMac G4 1.25 MDD Tower. It?s a 16x DL DVD+/-R burner. After flashing the firmware to version 1.14 I have been able to burn 8x at 12x without any problems.
  • I have been using DVD Backup and DVD2OneX as well. I have Popcorn, but I haven't felt the need to the try it out yet. Anyways to answer the "Why would need to backup your DVD collection?" question: Convenience and peace of mind. I have a decen…
  • I never really bothered with Safari. Initially I preferred Camino (then Chimera). After I got tired of Camino's instability - I gave Safari another try - still too slow, and too buggy. I began using FireFox on my PC at work while when it was stil…
