Hmmm, seems like the negatives in the poll are climbing slightly. I guess there are some who really don't think we're getting some Mac Pro loving come the 15th.

You have the OSX disk in the drive and you held down the "C" key while starting it up and you heard no beeps? If all of the above is true, and you held it down for at least a couple of minutes, then that doesn't seem to work for PPC macs. I t…

OK, you have safeguarded your work, but not your system files. At least you won't be losing any of your work if nothing works. Did your mini make any noises when it died, like clicking or anything?

How did you put your work on the external hard drive? Did yo use a program or just copied the files/folders over manually (like from Finder)?

Do you have a backup? Ok just re-read your post and yes you have a backup so at least your data is safe.

You said you can insert the OSX install disk right? If so, and if I am remembering correctly, you can hold down the C key during start up to force your mac to boot off of the DVD or CD. Keep holding the C key until you hear beeps. And then be pat…

I am running a USB 2.0 LaCie 250GB HD with my MacBook and it works just fine for the Time Machine drive. I am getting a Mac Pro after MWSF and I will be looking at OWC quad interface 500 GB HDs. They are cheaper than the G-Tech and I have always …

First of all, Happy New Year everyone. Now, back to the Mac Pro update scenario: there may be trouble on the consumer front. If these rumors posted at MacRumors are true it could bode ill for the Mac Pro seeing an update at MWSF. There is a sc…

I am not convinced that using the past is an accurate forecast of Apple's future behavior. All the components are available and the rumors of J.I. having redesigned the Mac Pro were all the rage this past summer. The only reason not to have annou…
